Had Blue Oak for lunch yesterday.

10 wing platter, which comes with two sides. One of the sides was Brussels sprouts which is a slight up charge for some reason. Ordered an ice tea.

Price before tip (which they ask for) - $30.11. Insane. Seems at least ten dollars too high right.

Did they not have the prices displayed while you were ordering? Everything is expensive these days.

Everything is expensive these days but BBQ restaurants are very high.

I found out the hard way when I went to Terry Black's hungry.

They did and I still chose to eat there. $30 just seems crazy.

BBQ used to be cheap cuts but now there aren't much cheap cuts around. Hell Wingstop stopped serving wings all together because the commodity pricing was so high.

I'm always not sure how much to tip there. You walk up to the counter and order and then they bring your food when ready. You get your own drink and refills, get your own utensils and sauces/napkins.

How much did you tip?

I feel like they started up charging the Brussels because they are popular.

Central City bbq is arse, but they do have better wings vs blue oak. They are expensive too, however

Of course. Hats off to them for making brussel sprouts a desired and popular offering

You picked one of the most expensive items they have Show me any non-chain BBQ place where you can get an entree, 2 sides and a drink for the $20 after tax you think it should cost.

Awful lot of downvotes with no suggestions on where this mythical BBQ shop is

$30 for a burger and fries too. Absolutely insane. And it is getting worse.

Maybe so. $30 just seems unreasonable for that order.

for 1 person and only 10 wings (and two sides)they are robbing you.

i know prices of goods has gone up, but I refuse to believe they have maintained the same profit margin from when prices were reasonable. They along with everyone else pass the prices onto the consumer while increasing profit margin while still using covid as an excuse.

It’s not just the price of goods though. The price of labor has gone way up since 2020
