Trying to get a few people into different whiskeys but they are relatively new and I want to start them off with a Christmas gift that won't cost a fortune fi they do not like it.
all three have had and liked:
Irish - Jameson - my thoughts were Powers Gold Label but looking for another suggestion.
Scotch - Glenlivet and GlenFiddich - I was thinking Highland Park 12, Glenmorangie 10, Aberlour 12
Bourbon - Jim Beam and Evan Williams - Thinking Basil Hayden, Four Roses Small batch.

Definitely not Basil Hayden. Super meh.
Four Roses Single Barrel should run you around $40. 1792 Single Barrel or Bottle in Bond both around $40. Wilderness Trail Bourbon Fest picks can be had for $53 at Martin Wine Cellar.

four roses single barrel was 44.99 at Bin Q last week. bought a couple.
As far as a good starter, i had some legacy that my wifes uncle brought to thanksgiving lunch and it was legit for only being $18 a bottle

For an Irish Whiskey - Tullamore DEW
The 12 year is nice too
Also, I second the four roses and possibly woodford reserve

Irish:
- Writer's Tears is fantastic at $30-35. Not everyone carries it, so it can be hit or miss. Acquistipace does.
- The Whistler Sherry Cask Finish is usually available at Martins, and this would be the next best bet. If you can't find either of these, then roll with Bushmill's Black.
Scotch: Under 50 is tough, but I think Glenlivet is a solid one at that price point
Bourbon:
- Coopers Craft 100 proof is a can't miss item.
- angels envy
- 4 Roses Single Barrel
- Pinhook
