Best way to cook live Maine Lobster

A friend just dropped off a dozen live lobsters out of the blue...quite literally. What's the best way to cook them?
I was thinking about boiling them like crawfish. I've done that in the past with good results but my daughter said they were a "little chewy." Any better ideas?

They steam them up there, right?

That's what the yanks do, it just seems kinda bland to me

We boiled them once and they didn’t fully cook. Finished the tail and claw meat in butter. Good luck.

Blanch them all. Freeze some for another day. Take a couple this weekend and split the tails down the middle. Put them on the grill shell side down as you baste with butter and spices. Pick the claws for bisque or similar.

Pro Tip: Grill a juicy ribeye to go along with the delicious lobster tails on grill you just described.

Lobsters are bland. They are overrated in my opinion. But “that’s what the yanks do” is a dumb statement.
Boil the meat until tender and get creative. It’s basically a seafood blank canvas. Make a paella, or a bisque, or whatever else you want.

Connecticut-Style Lobster rolls are a nice choice.

I generally agree but my Connecticut friend makes a great lobster. I don't know how she cooks it and she is from Texas and her Mom is a chef.

Time is ticking so I think I'm just gonna boil some and blanche and freeze the rest. Thanks for the advice.
I'll revisit this later. Having some on hand for surf and turf later is good option.

Split them in half and do them on the grill with garlic butter. I did them boiled before and they were kinda meh. The split ones were much better.

Not sure if you realize it, but you sound like a pretentious prick.

Lobsters are fantastic…if you like lobster. If someone doesn’t enjoy lobster, don’t eat lobster.
OP, lookup Emeril’s stuffed lobster. Fantastic recipe.

Put about 3 or 4 inches of water in the bottom of a large stock pot. Bring it to a boil. You can salt the water if you want to, but it's not necessary.
Make sure the lobsters are still wet. Sprinkle them liberally with your seasoning of choice. Zatarain's Crab boil works fine.
Drop the lobsters into the steaming pot, and cover tightly. Wait 20 minutes, and they should be ready.
Serve with drawn butter with garlic slices and lemon.

Lobsters don't need to be soaked in seasoning to be tasty. Unlike crawfish

Lived in MA & NH for a bit. Stuffed lobster as they do it, is terrible. Unseasoned butter and unseasoned bread crumbs. Waste of lobster and money.
