Two slices of Bunny bread smothered in mayo of choice.
At least 3 slices of Oscar Mayer bologna on one slice of bread.
A big hand full of crushed potato chips on the other slice of bread.
Put together and enjoy.

Ham, turkey, and spicy Colby jack on a decent sub loaf. Put whatever you want on it. Personally I go with tomato, light lettuce, jalapeños, that pepper house gormaise mayo blend, and a horseradish mustard. fricking great.
If we’re talking generic quick sandwich, my favorite is mayo grilled cheese on your choice of bread with American cheese (bacon optional) and tomato soup with a bit of cream or milk in it (and a lot of black pepper) on the side.

All sandwiches are compromised. Saying best isn't saying much.

My favorite deli sandwich is a big pile of pastrami with steam-melted smoked provolone and some stone ground Dijon on good seeded rye. A couple of dill pickle spears and either pasta salad or some kettle chips and I am in lunch heaven.

This was absolutely true from like the 70’s (maybe earlier) til the early 2000’s.
Maspero’s on Decatur’s pastrami was the best sandwich in the Quarter.
My favorite sandwich (hard to find now that Bennigan’s is gone) is the Monte Cristo.

Freshly made egg salad with crumbled bacon in it, between two slices of fresh Bunny Plantation (I mean old style) bread

Without question the answer is peanut butter and jelly. Ice cold glass of milk on the side
