There are some OK places - Oriental Pearl, for example - but I wouldn't say that any of them are "good." Lee's in Watson is your best option. Foo Chow in Walker has a solid buffet.

Sorry, I should have worded it differently. What I meant is that if he wants GOOD Chinese, his closest option is Lee's in Watson. I don't consider there to really be any good Chinese places in BR, now that Omi and 9 Dragon Noodle House have closed.

What was that good place that used to be on Airline not far from the Interstate? That was one of my go-to’s back in the day.

It’s now a church of Scientology :^(

Taste of China?

Bad ethnic food is a lot worse than no ethnic food. Re: Superior Grill and every Chinese food joint around these parts.

In 1987 I was hosting a Chinese trade delegation for a week, my guest were getting tired of our cuisine, they didn't care for gumbo, fried seafood etc., so in desperation I called a Chinese guy I used to work with, begging him for help. He said there was only one within 200 miles he would take his dog to, (pardon the expression), He set up a dinner for me at Trey Yuen in Covington, he saved my arse, and my dog.

This really sucks. I thought Omi was re-locating. Any word?

What are the expectations for Americanized Chinese food? I'd say Oriental Pearl makes good food for what you are going there for.

Is Thai close enough? Thai Kitchen is much better than any Chinese Restaurant in BR IMO

The one on Burbank right? I agree. I've tried ordering takeout from other places nearby, and none are as good as Nine Dragon to me.

If you like Nine Dragon, you'd like the food at New China on North Acadian and Florida. I find it to be very similar.

Is PF Changs any good? It's been years since I've been there.

Best Chinese in BR used to be China Express on Coursey before it was sold 10 years or so ago. It's shitty now.

Hunan
