I like a traditional pepperoni-type pizza. I have had Il Supremo, and it was pretty darn good. I've tried Reginelli's and Tower of pizza as well. What other places should be on the list?

then it’s likely you have already had the best. I’ve not tried it yet but the best I have had is St Pizza

Pizza Delicious is my personal favorite. New York Style. Always perfect crust, and the base sauce is outstanding.

Don’t be afraid to jump on the ferry to Algiers point and hit up Nighthawk Napoletena, also great pizza and a fun little trip across the river on ferry.

If only there were some manchild who is dangerously close to his mother who could shepherd us through the pizza options in New Orleans and beyond.

Underrated options: Stella's in Metry and Brick Oven in Kenner.

Friend,

Your trip to Tower was worth your time I hope. Tower has an important role in the history of pizza in New Orleans and its salads bring out the best in its relatively sweet pizza. Reginelli’s, on the other hand, is not a place I send any of my friends.

As you know, New Orleans has an often overlooked but important pizza history. For the last year, four New Orleans area pizzerias earned a spot on the TulaneLSU top 100 pizzerias in America ranking.

The following were included:

91. Pizza Delicious (New Orleans, LA) 7.64

57. Forbidden Pizza (New Orleans, LA) 8.20

32. St. Pizza (New Orleans, LA) 8.84

31. Il Supremo (Metairie, LA) 8.85

This 2026 rankings will be released in May of 2027.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Friend,

Zee’s has potential and their crust is usually in the 7 range. However, staff have a habit of putting too little red sauce on their pizzas, resulting in a dry pizza. Perhaps they have recently remedied this error for you, but not in my experiences.
