Game 6 vs. Vanderbilt Catholic - 48 pitches (March 20th
I was at this game as my son plays for Vanderbilt and he walked off of the mound in the 3rd inning in frustration holding his arm. He got knocked aroung that inning but you could something wasn't right. The kid has a great arm but is certainly very raw. He will need lots of work to make it on the mound in BR but it is doable. Prayers for this kid to recover and have a successful college career.

I will be in the area Thursday and Friday and I will be going to a few of these nurseries. There are so many of them, do you guys recommend any certain one that are better than others? Also is there a nursery there that specializes in camellias, i need to pick up a few of them. Any tips and recommendations are appreciated.

re: Good place to stop on the way to the Gatlinburg, Sevierville area from BR?
Posted by tigerrage08 on 4/28/25 at 3:03 pm
Look up Bear Creek log cabins just outside of Fort Payne, AL. Last time we went to Gatlinburg we stayed there in Fort Payne and visited the Desoto State park like a prior poster mentioned as well as little river canyon. It is a beatiful area. The cabins were great and we will stay there again.

Large Planters
Posted by tigerrage08 on 3/26/25 at 10:19 am
Looking for a place to buy 8-10 large (18-20") planters for my patio. Fiberglass or glazed clay pots are fine. I guess metal is not out of the question but no idea where to find these other than online. I want something that will last and hopefull to find a place with reasonable prices. The stuff at the big box stores are junk and they crack. I am located in Houma but willing to travel a ways to get these. Thanks for any leads.

I cannot comprehend the fact at these left wing extreme public servants who are on a national platform can get away with this and continue to serve. This should be grounds for removal from office when inciting violence on other fellow public official and asking the public to become violent. This is not freedom of speech, this seems to be desperate acts of tyranny against you opponets and domestic terrorism. Wouldn't surprise me if the national gaurd were to get called to defend these places of business. Its time for snipers to start picking these people off from rooftops. Sad times.

Imagine being a grown man and being bothered by what other shoes men wear. Your taste is not the only one that matters!! :spank:
re: Bermuda Plugs
Posted by tigerrage08 on 3/20/25 at 11:09 am
I was thinking about the same thing, it looks like delta sod in Jefferson carries the Bermudea Tifway 419. Not sure if that is a good variety. Anyone ever used Tifway 419?
Bermuda Plugs
Posted by tigerrage08 on 3/20/25 at 9:43 am
Where can I find bermuda plugs, to start the transition from centipede lawn to bermuda? Would these plugs eventually take over the centipede lawn? I really don't want to do rip all the centipede out and sod. I am fine with a slow transition to bermuda if there is such a thing. Location is south, La.
re: Blue Ridge Mountains / Smokey mountain Trip

We did Asheville a few years ago and really enjoyed the drive to Brevard where we caught Hwy276 (Pisgah Hwy) and drove that up to the Blue Ridge parkway. You can see Looking Glass Falls which is along Hwy 276, drive a few miles further north after and the is sliding Rock, which is exactly what it sounds like. You can slide down a rock the is flowing with creek water into a natural pool. Proceed further up Hwy 276 and there is a place called "Cardle of Forestry", which is a tour you can do which was very interesting details about forestry. Check to see if it is open, i believe it is temprarily closed.
Proceed a few more miles up to the Blue Ridge Pkwy and head north on the pkwy. A nice place to have lunch is Pisgah Inn. The food was decent but the dinig room views were awesome. I dont' recall if they take resevations, but if not get there early enough where the wait will not be so bad.
Stop and different overlooks along the way and there are many hiking trails along the way. You can then exit off of the pkay on the South side of Asheville and return back to your base or continue on the pkwy.
We also had dinner at Sunset Terrace at the Omni Grove Park Inn. It was a great dinner at sunset. Get there early and enjoy the hotel grounds which was beatiful.
