Pastime uses a pre-packaged crust, the same shite that laser tag places use. It's fricking terrible.

My two favorites are Roma Pizza, & NY Pizza on Jones Creek.

Im a FDL fan but not ashamed to hit up Lit Pizza too, their cheese blend is outstanding and ask for it extra crispy if you like it crunchy.
Whole Foods right out the oven is really good too.

People sleep on this, but it’s a very good NY style pie

I recently discovered Fratellis pizza and I must say I like this more than any other pizza in BR. I live in Bocage and will make the 20 minute drive to get this over Rocca, Red Zeppelin, and Reginellis. Here is a pic. May not look like much from the pic but whatever sauce and cheese they use is incredible. Only $12 for a large cheese pizza btw.

Is there still any Rotolo’s? The one on Nicholson used to be great

They've got Rotolo's all over now. There's even a "fancy" Rotolo's on Ben Hur/Burbank.

I've never enjoyed their pizzas because I find their red sauce too sweet. But, their calzones (Wednesday) and sweep the floor (Krewe) cheesesticks are worth going. Plus they usually have a solid beer selection.

Not in BR but Big Slice in Geismar puts together a pretty good NY style pizza. Worth checking out.

I know pizza.

Roma is too salty.
Same as big slice in dutchtown.
Obviously the chain pizza's are shite.
Fratellis is good pizza.
Johnnys hog heaven is my favorite.
Fleur de lis is good as well.
Red zeppelin is ok.
Shlitz is drunk people pizza.
Isabella's is good.
Rotolos..its ok. Not my fav.

Pizza Byronz square/detroit style is the best pizza in South BR at the moment.

I like Red Zep as a close second for a takeout option.

The cheese pizza at La Contea off jefferson is delicious.

I dont care for their other pizzas, but this has great sauce and cheese. Lots of zing in the sauce and not too greasy on the crust or cheese.

I second the La Contea choice- but I add sundried tomatoes and spinach

It's a greasy mess, but I'm a fan of Roma Pizza in Prairieville at the corner of Airline and Old Perkins.

I just ordered one. I don't know how my wife's passenger seat is not stained, but it is a greasy mess. And it was awesome.
