Sweet baby rays is such mainstream grocery store bbq sauce…. But damn it’s hard to beat. I usually kick it up a little bit though depending on what it’s going on.

PSA for anyone who cares about this kind of thing: they do a No Sugar Added line of several of their sauces and its 8 calories per TBS.

This but Im not sure folks can buy if off the shelf in LA. Easy to find in Houston but haven't seen it anywhere is LA.

I have a bottle in my fridge (random purchase - had never heard of it), and I don’t shop in Texas so it’s somewhere here in BR.

Sweet baby Ray’s Honey BBQ is quite legit.

I love mixing that with some ranch and using it with my grilled chicken.

I do the same thing... it's good on literally ANYTHING.

Thank you for this. My whole house thinks that just about any BBQ sauce is too sweet. I had started shopping for it based upon the calorie # on the label.

I actually lived in Batesburg-Leesville where Shealys is located. Wife and I would hit up the restaurant at least once a month.

ETA: Was excited that they ship. Then I looked at the shipping cost. $65 bucks for shipping for a half-gallon of mustard and a half-gallon of vinegar.

That's not the total. That's $65 alone for shipping. Doing pints drops it to *only* $45. Doing two gallons brings it to $96. Again, that's just the shipping cost.

frick that.

Meat Mitch Whomp is one of the best. He has a white sauce that is amazing too. He has a restaurant here in KC near our house. Does a fried chicken sandwich with the white sauce…amazing

If that's the case, these two are not sweet at all one is a vinegar/mustard sauce, the other is mostly vinegar and spices. Both are tangy or hot.

Foy's BBQ sauce

Bishop's 3n1 Stuff

I found Bishop's at Piggly Wiggly for a lot cheaper than the Amazon price, maybe $3 a bottle.

Salt Lick Spicy is my favorite.

I can't get in the grocery here in Tennessee like I could in Texas, so anytime my dude goes to Dallas for work I make him stuff a bottle in his boot for me.

Sweet Baby Ray's has it's place in my lineup, but it is too sweet for many applications. I think Stubb's Original is my favorite for a non-sweet sauce off the shelf.

That said, I'm always baffled by people that spend 12+ hours smoking a piece of meat only to use store bought sauce on it. I know there is a lot of drinking to be done while the meat is smoking, but I can usually find time to make my own sauce.
