Really like Cajun Power, much better than Monjuni’s imo

I prefer this to Rao's.

They make a cheaper version for Walmart. It's around $3.50.

Rao's is my go to. But before I purchase it, I make sure there isn't something with San Marzanos.

I like the flavor of Rao's, but it a little too oily. If you prefer a thicker sauce, Newman's Own is pretty good, and it's a lot cheaper than Rao's.

agree with all of the nods to Rao's and Newman's Own

I recently took a chance on a BOGO at Publix on Mid's sauce and liked it very much.

Best outright? Rao.

Best bang for the buck, and great base if you're going to doctor it up? Barilla.

I use the Tomato Basil Basilica. Few ingredients, no HFCS, good basic basil flavor, and often get it for about 2 bucks. It's definitely what I use when feeding the kids.

Wow. Not sure I've seen anything this unanimous on the F&D Board. I've never had it before, but it appears the Publix by my house carries it. Will try it this week.

Same here. I'll have to sneak it into the house though, because my poor wife is stuck on certain brands. She thinks Kraft basic BBQ sauce is the best. I bought something besides Prego for spaghetti once and she claimed it was horrible.

I get the Hunts classic spaghetti sauce and some Hunts tomato sauce and add sauteed onions, celery, mushrooms, and garlic in olive oil. Throw in some Tony's, parsley, thyme, tarragon, italian seasonings. Then some butter, worchestshire, beef base, cab. sauv., sugar and cook all day.

If you're doctoring it up this much and cooking all day, you might as well just make it from scratch

I do all the cooking at the house. My wife has the same hang-ups on certain foods and brands. I just make dinner and tell her afterwards. She tries to be mad......

our cousin vinnys is damn good. made in donaldsonville. By far the best in a jar i have tried, sure as hell way better than Raos.

LINK

i also really like cajun spaghetti sauce by cajun power but be warned it has a kick.

if you dont want the kick, mix two jars of my cousin vinnys with one cajun power. Add mushrooms, little garlic, onions and season to tase.

Add you italian sausage sliced and either meatballs or ground beef/ground italian sausage to it.

great week night meal that is quick and easy.

Ha, almost the same here. She's a good cook, but sticks to several things she does very well. I do most of the cooking and play around with different seasonings. She tried to get mad at some pork shoulder I had smoked when I had some different sauce. She dug out a bottle of Kraft from back in the pantry. I almost made her try it without any sauce, but that didn't go over well.

I actually bought a couple of jars of Rao’s on the recommendation on the food board for some (just in case) hurricane prep. I got home late tonight, so that’s what I fixed. My family and I all thought it was better than the prego or classico that I usually buy. It’s not overly sweet like some of the others tend to be. Food board comes through again!

ETA: I bought the tomato and basil sauce (that is what my local Kroger had in stock) and added a couple of tablespoons of minced garlic.

Same. Only I do tomato sauce not spaghetti. And fry the crusted tomatoes in olive oil. Hold the mushrooms.

And when on one is looking, and I mean no one. I add one tablespoon of hunts natural catsup per gallon of sauce.
I can't figure out what the hell is in it.

No judgment here. My grandmother made some of the best spaghetti sauce I’ve eaten and she always added a little squirt of ketchup.
