It’s the most commonly purchased pasta in Italy when I’ve googled is all I was trying to say. Was just offering a suggestion. Didn't think it would be picked apart. It will suffice for a jar of sauce.

You didn’t think the following would be picked apart?

Barilla is what 99% of Italians buy

Any adult with an IQ above room temperature should identify that as bullshite.

It’s like no Italians make their pasta from scratch.

My German grandma made egg noodles from scratch. So did the family of my Amish babysitter. They were awesome served with chicken and gravy and mashed potatoes.

Been using Our Cousin Vinny's sauce lately, but definitely been meaning to try Rao's.

Bought two jars of it in two different flavors: garlic and basil. Probably get into it next week. Anyone got a recommendation on pasta noodles to go with it? Not sure if there is one brand that's better than another TBH.

D’Agostino pasta is delicious but I don’t splurge on it often. We love Rao’s spaghetti noodles and always use Rao’s tomato basil sauce.

I don't know the actual numbers, but I have to agree with LL on this .. most Italians use Barilla if buying a store bought sauce. My Sicilian family does, anyway. I guess that's why I'm the only other one on this thread to suggest it.

For some reason, most of you equate Barilla with Ragu, Prego, Hunt's, etc. just because it's on the shelf ... as though Rao's isn't. Rao's just cost more.

I’m pretty sure she was talking about their pasta, not their sauce. I didn’t even know they made sauce.

FYI - Rao's sauce is on sale right now at Whole Foods. $5.99 a jar instead of $8.99 a jar.

When I first started using Rao’s, it wasn’t that well known here, and it was hard to find on the shelf. I was looking for a sauce without added sugar, and Rao’s was recommended on low carb recipe sites. Bonus: It’s delicious! Actually, their pizza sauce was what I found first. I’m thrilled that it is now so easy to find.

Just saw these are $3 off at Fresh Market this week, FWIW. If I get a chance to get over there, I would like to try some.
