Why do people on here hate on BRQ so much.

Most people on here are looking for a hole in the wall BBQ joint.
It's very non traditional and expensive compared to most BBQ.
I think it is good...but not in a traditional BBQ way. More plays on smoked meats etc...

If you like that Texas style bbq you find in places off of I-20, then Podnuh’s. It resembles that style of BBQ and is fairly priced. They have a lunch buffet too. Started in West Monroe and built two locations in BR. One off Florida and one off Sherwood

Podnuhs is awful and nothing like texas bbq. That place is gross.

Why do people on here hate on BRQ so much. Fwiw, I’ve never been but I do hear their commercials on BR radio when I’m in town.

Because their food is bland, terrible, and over priced. Took four visits from me ordering different things each time to realize how bad of a product it is. But their parking lot stays full so kudos to them and whoever their clientele may be.

Good BBQ is pertty labor intensive.

Its not like your just flippin a burger every 5 mins.

Good brisket or butt needs to cook 10 + hours, so you about have to have a smoker running 24 hours

I don't really like the BBQ there. But they still have the best beans I've ever had. Nobody even comes close.

Agree. Whole Foods beef ribs (when you can find them), brisket and sausage are very good.

I've wondered about Pimanyoli's recently as well. I've been 3 times in years past and it was great. I'm thinking about taking friends there for lunch later this month, but have heard at least one report that their quality has gone down in recent times. Would love to hear the opinions of parties who have been there in recent times.
