re: Reflection on a solemn day

St Paul’s words in today’s first reading in the lectionary are equally poignant:

Colossians 3:12-17
Brothers and sisters:
Put on, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved,
heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
bearing with one another and forgiving one another,
if one has a grievance against another;
as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do.
And over all these put on love,
that is, the bond of perfection.
And let the peace of Christ control your hearts,
the peace into which you were also called in one Body.
And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another,
singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs
with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or in deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I had/have Stage II in both hips. I was diagnosed 5 years ago at 33 years old. Got a few opinions on treatment options, some of which told me a core decompression would not be worth the hassle, and I mostly decided to wait it out until pain got so bad that I was willing to undergo hip replacements.

The pain escalated pretty quickly, and within a few months I was walking with a pretty severe limp. Looked back into treatment options and met with Dr. Jeb Broyles about doing a core decompression with stem cell therapy. I read promising research and decided to go for it.

Surgery was on one hip at a time, twelve weeks apart. Six weeks on crutches following each surgery.

Five years later, I have not even been back for a follow-up. I have virtually no pain on a regular basis. About once every few months I get some pain while running or doing impact exercises (which are not recommended with AVN, but so be it), but the pain is not continuous. When I stop the particular exercise, the pain stops, and I can usually resume those exercises in a day or two.

I am not sure if it was the core decompression itself, or it coupled with the stem cell therapy, but I really don't have any effects of AVN anymore. As I said, I have never been to (because I haven't needed) a follow-up, but I want to do an MRI soon so see if they disease has progressed, stalled, or reversed.

TL;DR - Check out doing a core decompression with stem cell therpy. Dr. Broyles in the best in town for that.
All persons should care about morality. Society benefits when all persons care about moral good.

Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman. Period.

A man than decides to facilitate the dissolution of that bond is no man.

It was a pleasure giving this the first downvote. My only regret is that I have but only one to give.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I find chips work as well or better than chunks in my primo. Maybe it’s for the reason cited-they burn through better. I use just about a whole bag of chips and get a great smoke flavor.

Sold about 2/3 of my position at 1.74. Got in at .90. Holding the rest (house money) to see where it goes.
If you wire money in your account you can sell prior to the sell, you won’t incur a violation, as long as the wired money is there to settle the buy. Wired money is considered settled immediately. At least that’s how the Fidelity rep explained it to me.

ETA: I just checked and I still get the warning if I try to sell. So this may not be a resolution. But fidelity rep said it would work.
I was as dumb as you get with UAVS. Bought in at 3.71 right before the call.

Bought in for MVIS at the same time at .33.

Lost a lot more off UAVS than I’ve made with MVIS.

We holding through next week?
The nickname writes itself: “Groping Cory”
Take a look at the Camp Chef version. Similar to blackstone but consistently gets better reviews.
Wayne's in Livingston. Smoked turkey is great

Rouchers in Plaquemine will be able to take care of you. I’ve believe their slaughter day is Thursday. Be sure to call about a week in advance.

re: Control Device for Kamado Grills

Not sure there is any huge advantage. The inventors say its because it operates the grill as it is supposed to be operated (i.e., through vent adjustment rather than forced air). They also claim that it uses less power, so batteries aren't eaten quite as quickly. Not sure these are significant enough differences, but it is fun to watch it operate.

I tend to agree, but its comparable to the other wifi controllers out there. I think the BBQ Guru Cyber Q and the Flame Boss 200 run about the same price.

The price of convenience I guess....

The "early bird" kickstarter is $229. That is for the first 50 units sold on kickstarter. Looks like there are 21 left at that price as of now. Then it bumps to $249 through kickstarter. Once its in production, I think the price will be $279.

Control Device for Kamado Grills

Long time lurker here, but wanted to share this in case anyone was interested. This is a control device for BGE, Primo, and Kamado Joe that works by automating the daisy wheel of these grills. Similar to the BBQ Guru and Flame Boss, you set the temperature you want to maintain and the controller maintains that temp. Unlike those products, this does not force air flow with a fan at the intake. You leave the intake open and the only adjustment made by the controller is of the top damper.

They just launched their kickstarter campaign. I was a beta tester, and the device works really well on my Primo XL. For the record, I have no ties to the company or financial incentive- I just think it is a cool device and wanted to share.

Tired of being a lurker, but my username is too unique. Any way I could get a change?

Thanks
