Victorinox 12 Inch Fibrox Pro Chef's Knife

J.A. Henckels Pro 7" Chef's Knife

Wusthof Classic 7" Santoku Knife

Wüsthof Classic Paring Knife

I'm thinking of getting an Asian chef knife at some point, possibly this one

or this one if i get a bit richer)

Get a decent boning knife. You'll love it.

I'd suggest a good paring knife and a serrated bread knife. Both are essential knives.

SFP.... if you want a good knife Japanese knife go to Chefknivestogo

You can get real hand made Japanese knives on that site for the same or less money than the Shun an other stuff in the stores. Get on the forum and follow their protocol of questions and you will get steered in the right direction for what you are looking for. My first gyuto from there was only $120. It’s bad arse...

I got these for Christmas. If I were you I'd be looking for a filet/boning knife.

My knife collection is now up to this. I get one or two every Christmas from my kids.

Start here. You will find some good deals. I agree a good boning knife is hard to beat. If you get up this way stop in the store as they have specials at times.

I have a victorinox bread knife that is nice for cutting.

I don't use it enough to get a really nice serated knife, so the fibrox handle is fine.

Shun makes a good, affordable knife. I prefer Wüsthof at that price range, but to each their own. Really trying to find a good reason not to pick up a Bob Kramer Carbon from Zwilling right now...

The Shun knives are fine for my needs and they’re from my kids which carries more value to me than OMG I have the most expensive knives out there!

I know you didn’t imply that and it wasn’t directed at you. Some people are just asses (Caplewood) and should stick the tRant instead of a helpful forum like the Food and Drink Board.

I also have some Zwilling and Henkel that were passed down to me. Nice knives as well.

Oh, definitely. And they're very aesthetically pleasing.
