Yes envy apples are the best, but by the end of their season they fade and are no longer worth it. Also seem to be smaller in recent years. Cosmic crisp are also amazing and are overtaking envy as my 1st place.

Neither of these were very good but Red Delicious was garbage.

Hate red delicious and golden delicious, but I still love a Granny Smith.

My top 3 are Pink Lady, Honey Crisp, and Granny Smith.

Never tried Cosmic Crisp, but always looking for new apples to try. My wife brought some apples home the other day that were similar to Honey Crisp that were delicious, but she didn't remember what they were. Perhaps I have had a Cosmic Crisp.

Quit buying apples 20 years ago because I kept getting burned on grainy red delicious. Started back after I read an article about the development of Honeycrisp. Now I eat 3 or 4 a week. I’ve tried some of the other new ones, but I like the Honeycrisp best.

Christopher Kimball lives up in apple country. He says the Honeycrisp is too sweet, and he likes several other varieties he can get up there. Of course, we never see any of those in our stores.

if you ever get the chance, go up to Vermont in the fall and pick them yourself at an orchard. They have many more varieties up there that you've never heard of. Pixie Crunch right off the tree when its 50 F outside is the most delicious apple ive ever eaten.

Pink Lady’s and Fuji for regular apples. But those “GrApple” that they sell in 4 packs are amazing.

Pink Lady is pretty good and so is Ambrosia apples. I only buy these if both Cosmic Crisp and Honey Crisp aren't available.

The cosmic crisp is a cross between the honey crisp and another I can’t remember the name of. I like them better than honey crisp but the honey crisp are a bit smaller and I like them too.

For a yellow try the Opal. Crisp, juicy and sweet tart. Really good. Whole Foods carries it.

Autumn Glory is another sweet crisp with tastes like caramel and cinnamon. Unique and good. Sam’s and Costco.

Candy Crisp and Arkansas Black are good too. Maybe a bit harder to find.

for my money you can't beat a Cosmic Crisp. Cheaper than a Honeycrisp with the bonus of tasting better.

While shopping today, I checked the apples out. The Honeycrisp apples were very large and cost $2.49/lb. I finally found the Cosmic Crisp apples and they cost $ 3/lb.

No need to go all the way to Vermont. North Georgia has a bunch of orchards and an Apple Festival. Some amazing apples there.
