I love Brigtsen's and every meal I've had there has been super. I don't think it's romantic, though, unless perhaps if you can score one of the few tables on the little porch in the front. Otherwise, the rooms are a pretty tight fit with tables and it's pretty loud. I like the atmosphere, though. They also definitely mark special occasions when they know about them.

I agree. The food and service are great, but you are crammed into tiny rooms in an old house. They even have tables in the hallway.

Check out Italian Barrel. It’s a dimly lit authentic northern Italy restaurant.

They’ve expanded a few years ago so it’s not as cozy feeling but it’s still a romantic time nonetheless (and easier to get reservations).

I’ll also throw out Carribean Room for the old New Orleans nostalgia factor. I’ve never eaten there (have reservations Christmas Eve) but the decor is on par with what you’re looking for.

Ate there on Easter Sunday and it was delicious. Just don't get a table near the bathroom.

I was looking into that as well because the SO has been wanting to go to Hot Tin for awhile now so I figured two birds. It looks like a great atmosphere, but is the food good?

Don’t think Caribbean Room fits what you’re looking for, but I could be off on what you’re looking for

Check out Sylvain

I've been 3x and the food has been outstanding all three times. Great fish dishes.

Not mentioned (I dont believe), but I think Upperline would be a good fit for you.

It has a nice setting and isnt cramped. Plus, it is one of the better restaurants in the city.

I would strongly recommend restaurant revolution. I went this past weekend for a birthday celebration and it was very romantic and very upscale

We ate at Carribean Room on our Anniversary. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend the short rib ravioli. Really great experience overall.

I second Gautreau’s. If you haven’t been, an anniversary is certainly a reason to go.

What a juvenile response. There are no allegations of customers being sexually assaulted at any restaurants.

Atchafalya

Cafe Amelie

Also just tried Curio last night, food was excellent. If the weather is nice, the balcony was a great place to sit.

Coquette is two blocks down Washington Ave. from Commander's and right down Magazine St from La Petite Grocery. I consider it a scaled down version of LPG. I would put it a slight notch below the other two but that is my recommendation.

Bistro Daisy is a little cramped, but would fit the bill otherwise. Fantastic food and atmosphere.

ETA: Lilette would also be a fantastic choice, and you could get post dinner drinks at Bouligny Tavern next door.

There are some great options in West Riverside between Nashville and the park. I have yet to try out Bistro Daisy, you may be the first person I’ve seen on here discuss this place. Def. want to give them a try.
