Is there really a flame war going on in the Food/Drink board?

Didn't read the thread but the day Afreaux cowered away from the poli board was a successful day for the rant. He fought hard with two other posters for dumbest poster award, which is saying something, but seems to have taken his talents to the OT and food.

I've always thought of NLA as an extension of Ar-kansas. I have some relatives from "up north" and they can't cook for shite compared to my family in opelousas, washington, and ville platte. They don't eat cajun food often, they eat shite like fried chicken, steak and potatoes, and other "traditional" southern foods.

Hell, they even have the horrible Arkansas-sounding accent that makes me cringe.

I keep the O-T foolishness off of the Food and Movie boards. I don't even argue on here with the posters that I trade shots weekly with on the O-T. I pretty much consider F&D and the Movie Board to be Switzerland.

The North vs South Louisiana thing goes on all the time on TD. I just find it bizarre that Otis picked one reference of it on the Food Board to take personally.

I find it laughable for someone from Opelousas calling people out for having an accent.

You left a lot off your menu for us northeners. Please tell me about traditional foods for rednecks, or whatever you want to call us.

Flame on !!

Everyone should have the same accent so as not to offend each other. We should all speak alike, cook alike, eat alike, look alike etc... You get the point.

Ridiculous post.

I've seen your shitty comments about NLA and I want you to confirm that you have ever even eaten a single meal north of I-10(BR metro not included). Give details of time, place, price and menu...shouldn't be a problem as you're an expert in everything...

OMG!

i haven't even started reading this thread yet but that is a freaking AWESOME opening post

hulk you're dead to me

ok seeing as how i hail from funreaux and lived in baton rouge for 6 years (i took my time..paced myself in college) then lived in new orleans, then houston and finally nashville i can say a few things;

NELA has some damn good food and even if they're not importing the 'right' bread for poboys, dont hate on their south la faire. living in nashville i can tell you NELA beats the shite out of the food we have.

cormiers, that cajun place off 18th street, the burgers at the pharmacy on 18the street, the NUMBER ONE BURGER in the state at Enochs, OTEECE double-wide crawdads and poached oysters..yum..podnuhs BBQ, cascios and of cousre ..mother freaking johnnys pizza and yep..go ahead & hate on NEAL food

thats just a top-of-my-head rundown of places i ate last week..didnt have a bad meal at any of them.

so nothing freaux has said in this thread has changed my mind..i dont think he's eaten 5 meals north of i-10 in his life.

you give a redneck a chicken and this is what he does with it:

you give a coonass a chicken and this is what he does with it:

coonass smoked sausage:

redneck smoked sausage:

now you give a redneck one of these:

and he won't know what the frick it is. however, you feed it to a coonass, and he will thank you for the entire day.

in state haters.

i dont know whats funnier..the ULL-LSU meltdown on the rant, or the south la vs north la meltdowns.

maybe sla folks still have their panties in a wad because johnnys mopped the floor with all their iconic restaurants and beat the 'special' commanders palace in the championship game until some vote-post editing hijinks changed the results.
