Afreaux - i saw the original meltdown in the jambalaya thread ... wtf?

Seriously, though .. north Louisiana?

They season the outside of the crawfish. Nobody ever told them the meat was on the INSIDE?

Straight arse BACKWARDS.

Best meal i ever had in North Louisiana was at my little brother's house in Shreveport. Second best was at the Horseshoe in Bossier.

The only joint in NELA doing this is run by a family from SWLA. That a problem?

Otis, I've had to skip reading most of two threads because the language was too much for my ever feminine eyes.

I hope you don't have a chicken bone issue again.

What are you drinking tonight, other than too much?

The only time I've ever had crawfish seasoned on the outside, I was in Baton Rouge.

Dude, YOU the one that's been rantin' about "north of I-10" (re: the title of this thread) ... you been constantly talking about "north louisiana" for TWO THREADS ... now its just northEAST La, Monroe in particular.

Next time you wanna make your own moonshine, clean out the tub first, dude.

Honestly, not very well.

This is my point of view - does NLA have some restaurants that are comparable to SLA - sure. But the number is very small. Hell, I know of two places in Waveland/BSL that I would love to eat at right now, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to compare the area to SLA.

NLA, as a whole, does not come close to SLA as far as food goes. And that's not me being an arse towards NLA, that's just the truth.

No, Otis. Please see the chuckling smiling face following the question.

I take offense to "church lady", however.

...although, she was awfully funny in the Jimmy Swaggart skit.

Carry on. If you're not here on Monday, we'll see you when you get of bannage prison.

I'll say this, if I'm looking for Acadiana style food (Cajun or Creole), I'm not looking for it in NLA. However, if I were looking for something more Texas style I would consider NLA. I find NLA to be much more like Texas/Arkansas than Louisiana.

I grew up near Cane River and that's the only place I could conceivably tolerate above I-10. Monroe, Ruston and Shreveport are the trifecta of abject misery.

I think Otis passed out, but maybe he'll watch this in the morning. I think Jimmy was in the Southern part of the state when this occurred. Bad food drove him to it, I'm sure.
