I don't think it is so much a rumor.

Ted Brennan's Decatur is closed (again).

It has already risen from the ashes at least once, so I don't know whether to count this one out - but for the time being, das kaputt.

Locks changed at Ted Brennan's Decatur

Any tips on where the new Courtyard is going to be? At least which part of town?

I know the owner has been looking.

Nothing has come out as of yet as to potential new Courtyard taproom. I believe the main focus was more and better seating for customers and incorporating canning equipment for his beer. I believe he mentioned he wanted to sell his canned offerings directly from Courtyard location(s). Obviously will be an issue with distributors and current laws regarding that type of alcohol sales operation.

Pizza Nola in Lakeview, shutting down. Cites lack of revenue from mardi Gras.

Also saw Hollygrove Market is shutting down. Which for some reason seems more troubling than anything else.

Really upset about this one. It seemed like a well run operation every time I popped in. They did some good stuff for that part of town too.

I'm disappointed to see this place close, but their neighborhood sure didn't support them. Looking at their website, it looks like they may be planning a new home. I hope so.

It says a lot about the quality of the place that they depend on ~5 weeks of revenue from selling a product from another vendor to stay open.

The explanation they offer is laughable.

quote:

we are unable to keep the restaurant operating under the current economic climate. After a slow second-half of 2017, we were counting on a much bigger financial boost from this Carnival season to get us back on track. Unfortunately, we did not get that.”

Current economic climate?

They didn’t get a financial boost from Carnival? They were selling the DP cakes for like $25 each and we’re sold out by 1 almost every day.

Just read that Hollygrove’s rent was triple net, $4200/mo. Whaaa? That’s crazy stupid high.

I'll cite subpar pizza as the real reason for shutting down. Last time I ordered one it was a doughy, flavorless mess.

Think Caribbean Room is changing to Jack Rose? They are keeping the mile high pie and making it more casual.

Sad but true. I only ordered from there once.
