I'll cite subpar pizza as the real reason for shutting down. Last time I ordered one it was a doughy, flavorless mess.

My jaw will hit the floor when a restaurant admits that maybe their food wasn't that good

Capdeville is kind of a shocker, they had a built in crowd in that area.

Add Pita Pit to the list brah.

Alon moving into their turf make them scared and close shop ?

Can’t blame it on the remote location since they have been open so long.

Anyone know how Bobby Hebert’s Cajun cannon restaurant on Vets is doing?

I think it is always packed. I went twice. First time the food was all dropped on my table at once (2 apps and 2 entrees). They waited to do it all at once so the apps were cold. It was a mess trying to navigate the table and they rushed us out of there. We were looking to drink for a long time and we even told the waiter that. The food was meh...

The second time we went we asked for a table for two and they said the wait would be 10 minutes. That's cool. Went to the bar to get drinks. We saw multiple parties get seated. So I went up and said "hey, remember we are still here." She said she didn't forget us. An hour passed. We left. Never going back there again.

Went to the Boulevard American Bistro right down the street and got an amazing pork chop. Surprised me because of the location and never heard anyone talk about it....but pricey.

It's a remote area per the NYT.

How the hell is the Melting Pot on St Charles still open? It has to be a front for something.

Not sure how accurate this is, but about 8 years ago, I spoke with the manager there and he said that location, along with Baton Rouge are the busiest in the country.

Cheesecake Bistro St. Charles

quote:

Cheesecake Bistro by Copeland's closed its St. Charles Avenue location on Tuesday (May 22). The restaurant, with a long menu of cheesecakes for dessert, was opened by the legendary and flamboyant restaurateur Al Copeland in 2001. Copeland was the founder of the Popeyes fried chicken chain.

As for the St. Charles Avenue space, Al Copeland Investments is "reevaluating the market" and considering a new concept.

Did Taceaux Loceaux close their brick and mortar yet? Didn't see it last time I passed.
