Louisiana Does a lot of things poorly but Voting is NOT one of them

Louisiana definitely isn’t the example for many things but it sure feels like we have voting down pretty well. Very easy early voting process if that’s what you want to do and very well staffed day of voting locations if that is your preferred method. Voting numbers counted quickly very soon after polls closed.
Hearing all of the issues around the country, it feels good that my home state seems to have it under control.

Voting & alcohol sales are Louisiana’s best iterations.

Rabid sports fans, great food, and voting efficiency. And for BR, good drinking water.

Fun fact I learned from my dentist yesterday: BR water is not fluoridated.

remind me how I can confirm my ballot was cast correctly in Louisiana?

Absolutely true and if so inclined, you can make note of the voting machine summaries posted in the window and reconcile the numbers posted on the SoS website. That is true of voting day elections, early voting is a bit more obfuscated unfortunately.

I'd argue that the "good ole boys" system to get an allocated bottle of bourbon is BS.

I don’t know if the same everywhere, but in Covington, you not only had to present your ID, but they also scanned your ID to produce the adhesive slip (showing your name, address, and other information) that they attached to the voter record where you had to sign. I was also told that no mail-in ballots would be accepted after the Friday before the election.
It should be done this way everywhere. But, we know the Democrats would never go for that because it would make MASSIVE frickING VOTER FRAUD so much harder.

JP is the same.

I agree with the exception of using Dominion.

How does it work in other states?
In Louisiana, poll workers count the voters with signatures as the day goes on. At 8:00pm, the machine vote totals are printed. The total votes match the number of signed in voters. Mostly done within 30 minutes. Totals posted on precinct door and machines securely upload to central office in each parish.
In PA, democrats drop off truck loads of fraudulent ballots and run them thru the machines. As the count goes against them each day following Election Day, they keep delivering ballots until they win. So how do you protect that your vote counts as much as the fraudulent votes?

That is very helpful. Some years back I purchased a Big Berkey water filtration system for emergencies and I purchased the one with fluoride filters while I was at it. They were pretty expensive, and so guess I don’t need to repurchase those in the future.

I read if fluoride is in water naturally it's not bad that it's the added variety which makes me think there's something else being added that's being put under wraps in other areas.

Louisiana is pretty fricked up in all things that can be fricked up. After 63 years I've just learned to accept it.
However, St Tammany's voting system is top notch. I early voted and got into a line of 20 or 30 people. 8 minutes later I was walking out of the building. I probably spent more time finding a parking space than I did voting.

Who’s counting our votes? A proprietary software. No ability to audit.
Posted on 11/5/24 at 8:25 am to DerkaDerka
Counting signatures on the front end and validating the number of voters on the back end is not validating anything but how many people voted. The actual intent of the voter is done by proprietary software..

Everyone’s vote should be public info.
