So Philly will expect to be open till 10pm as well.
This might not be great on balance.

I thought as long as you are in line before the deadline you can vote?
Is this so people can leave and come back?

No. This is due to that county's voting machines failing

Bro, that lawyer ground game for the GOP is on fire right now. They are getting information from X and acting almost immediately.

Not enough done. These people need to be given a paper ballot and manually count their votes.

That's great. Unfortunately some people might be on a lunch break and have to leave. Should not have these issues. Fulton County uses fake bomb threats. Pennsylvania actually suppressing the Trump counties

We were all told to vote early....not sure why all of these people waited to vote on election day, especially in these large urban areas!!

It's this kind of doodoo that erodes voters' trust in the system.
A Pennsylvania judge approved a petition to extend voting hours until 10 p.m. ET after a "malfunction" prevented voters in Cambria County from scanning their ballots.
Elections officials emphasized that no one who wishes to cast their ballot will be turned away and that all votes will be counted. Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley urged voters to stay in line and cast their ballots regardless of the delay.
"The Cambria County Board of Election learned early this morning that a software malfunction in the County's Electronic Voting System has prevented voters from scanning their ballots," County Solicitor Ron Repak said in a statement. "This should not discourage voters from voting at their precincts."
"All completed ballots will be accepted, secured, and counted by the Board of Elections. The County Board of Elections has express voting machine [sic] at precinct locations to continue to allow voting electronically, while still allowing hand ballots to be cast," said Repak.

According to the GA SOS, the Russians called in a bomb-threat at two Fulton Co. (Atlanta) polling places. They have asked the courts to extend the closing time to make up for the delay caused by having to clear the building and confirm no threat.
Sounds like a pretty easy way to get more time. Have some anonymous "Russians" call in a bomb threat
