ou simply DO NOT pivot and scramble and land Brian Kelley in 3 days. It's preposterous to even think.

I doubt it happened, but it's not preposterous at all. If we had a contract, hammered out with Kelly's agent for Riley, all we would have to do is change the name on the contract. All of the details would have been agreed upon by his agent already. He would need to get that contract to his attorney, who could easily review it in one day. Another day to make any slight changes that are required and the deal is done.

so you really think you spend weeks negotiating a 100+ million dollar with an agent, he turns around and royally fricks you at the last minute, you then turn around and begin talks on a separate 100mil dollar deal with that guy? Ohhh and you're also offering less than you reportedly offered his other client Riley? Does that make any sense to you?

I believe Kelly was number 1 all along as well. Especially considering the leaks that it was someone no one was mentioning.

I guess you should ask his agent to find out.

O let is slip we had our guy
Some poster said we had a reserved plane for today (said it after Riley was gone but before we knew truth)
Woodward hunting and acting like he was happy and content
The ND AD says BK looked distant all season and not settled
I think it was done long time ago

TBL is the one I'm questioning now...

I mean pharm I always thought was bullshitting but it was wild times back then....

OU fans having to eat a big bowl of shite is the best in all of this. Except cast, he seems like good people.

The only one who really knows is Trace Armstrong. wonder how long it will be before he tells the story.

And really it makes a lot of sense. I don't know all of Woodward's hires off the top of my head (other sports), but outside of Sarkisian he's pulled coaches with several years of HC experiece ... Petersen, Fisher, Buzz Williams, and then Johnson and Mulkey.

I think Riley was probably the dream candidate and he probably didn't show interest when we initially reached out (assume that was the case). Aranda, Napier, Tucker may all turn out to be great HCs, but fact of the matter is they haven't been doing it too long, and none of them have the sucess that Brian Kelly does. Outside of Saban and Swinney, he's easily the most consistent and accomplished HC in all of CFB. And we just jacked him from a traditional blueblood.

This is a great hire, no other way to put it.

lots of great points. makes no sense that Riley/Armstrong totally screw us then our first phone call is to Armstrong to try to pull Kelly. Well said

How long before Vol comes in and tells us he was working with Woody to create a smokescreen?

I know you have a hard on for Vol, but all of the "insiders" were saying this. TBL and Unlucky both has a great track records and were duped as well.

At least Unlucky admitted he really had no clue what was going on after the LR stuff happened. TBL is clearly sticking to the we had Riley and pivoted story. I'm sure Vol will stick to that one as well, given his past history.

From Riley's press conference "Riley said he never spoke to any other school about its opening"

Not that I would trust everything this guy says.

Again, coaches can say that truthfully because their agents do all the talking until the end.

BK is a hard nose coach, what LSU needs right now. He will hold players accountable.
