Holy shite. Also the forum layout is garbage so I'll quote some.

quote:

Brian Kelly is scum of the earth

quote:

Nothing special about the place to him. just another school. Scum

quote:

what he did” was frick over and humiliate the university. Screw him and his amazing hypocrisy

quote:

Sneaky greedy abandoning his team in the middle of playoff run

quote:

Put the facilities on lock down and if he shows up, have security escort him out.

quote:

Our kids need to be shielded from him as well. He is a powerful SEC coach who still may be asked by the NFL about a player. If they Don show up or disrespect him, he may be vindictive later. They should be shielded from the dick.

Gather his key badge, etc, and escort him out of the premises. And he better be flying coach on his red eye.

fricking wow.

We would have the same melt if found in their situation.

They pissed.

Honestly this is a pretty risky move for Kelly in terms of legacy. If he doesn’t do well here he will also be hated by LSU fans.

Kinda like what's going on in Oklahoma.
It would be like that here too

Honestly I don’t disagree with the indignation (to put it lightly) especially the point about him coming to LSU right when they’re in the mix for a playoff spot.

This is going to continue to happen as long as signing day is in December. I wonder if they'll ever think about changing it back.

Were they mad when he did the same to Cincy to take the ND job?

Yeah I’m thrilled but honestly feel bad for ND, the team and fans.

They could be announced to the playoff in a few days. And honestly this hurts their chances for that. The committee has to consider it when ranking them.

I respect Kelly wanting to show up and address the team but may not be the best idea. I assume most players will be cool to him but it could lead to unnecessary confrontation.

They have every right to be mad.

Kelly is basically telling them there is a ceiling on their program, and he has a better shot at winning championships elsewhere.

That's a tough thing to stomach, especially for a program with the history and tradition of, what Beano Cook called, the "University of College Football".

Not me. The few fans I've interacted with have been snotty bordering on insufferable. Like bama fans with more teeth and better grammar, minus the recent championships.

For sure. I wasn't on this board then but I would guess Saban to Miami or Saban to Bama felt similar to the way ND fans are feeling right now

Those old enough to remember the 1969 LSU season (& 1970 New Years Day bowl bids) would submit that poaching away ND’s coach is small retribution for what Norte Dame costs us that year.

Those not old enough to remember need to read up on it. And then run it by the butt-hurt ND fan blogs for commentary!!!

I’d bet it would be worse, honestly.

I feel for them. This move blind-sided that entire program and all who associate themselves with it. But they’ll live, and they’ll probably end up with a very capable replacement coach.

Short of a perfect season with every high IQ AND highly talented recruited player available on the field they are at their ceiling.

I’m sure their frowns will turn to smiles when they repeat the Cincy cycle and snag Fickell.
