Pretty sure it's just an excuse for guys without friends to hangout with other losers and pretend to be real men by cooking food and drinking beer.

I'm kidding even though that perfectly describes my stepdad.

I am a 4th degree member. I’m the youngest guy there probably and I’m 33. I enjoy it and it’s fun giving back. My recommendation is to do the council affiliated with your home parish.

My grandfather was a fourth degree and grand knight for his council. I used to tag a long with him when I was younger to some of their charity events like Friday fish frys during lent and the jerry Lewis telethon.

All the old guys were very nice and really enjoyed what they were doing. The best jambalaya I ever had came from those old dudes.

When my grandfather passed away they all came to the funeral did a rosary, and gave my grandmother a very nice Bible.

One of my grandfather’s close friends in his council asked me to join to continue the family’s involvement. I would like to because they do good work, but I travel too much for work to be a contributing member. If not for that I’d join no doubt.

I'm interested in joining to participate in the charitable work they do, and the social and professional aspects of being a member.

Anybody a member and can give any feedback?

I have heard they have good life insurance rates. In a covid-19 world, everyone needs to get good life insurance. Every catholic man should look into it.
If you see a church selling plate dinners and the KCs are cooking them, then you will probably want to get a plate or two. They normally are very good.

My dad is a 32 or 33 degree Freemason (I can’t remember if there is a 33rd or if 32 is the highest) and member of knights of Columbus.

He was asked to be a Shriner along time ago but he never did

The KCs are for drunk old men who help the church hide the pedophilia. They are a cult that makes you earn your rank and don’t see all members as equal. Sounds like a hoot!

I'm a member and my council is kind of boring honestly. I'm one of the youngest at 41 and during the meetings they don't drink and are mostly business. I still enjoy it though because we do a lot for our church and community which I love, but the old baws are mostly retired and always plan shite that the younger guys can't show up to due to family commitments.

I'm a third degree and probably won't do the 4th because I've heard too many complaints about it since they changed the regalia.

3rd degree here in Birmingham. Not sure how it is everywhere else but we have a chapter full of pretty old guys. It would be great if we could get more guys areound my age to join. Still is a lot of fun and you make some good connections.

Not Knights of Columbus but Mason, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Shriner.

Joining masonry is no longer frowned about by most of the Catholic Churches.
