I’m not sure if it was the cold front or what, but there are dead earthworms all over my driveway and sidewalk. Spoke to a few others around the area that have had the same thing happen.

Anyone know what the culprit could be? I don’t recall it happening after previous cold fronts. We haven’t had much rain and I didn’t spray anything in the yard.

not this week, but like 3-4 weeks ago I walked outside to what looked like an earthworm massacre

Huh. If no heavy rains, I don't know. You can see it happen during the Spring when they breed heavily, but that wouldn't make sense this time of year. Soil issues can cause it as well, but if it is a widespread die off, that wouldn't make much sense either.

caught my nephew with a half eaten one in his hand. let him finish the other half. not much it could hurt since the other half was already in him.

Oddly, yes. Specifically, the last 4 days I’ve found 15-20 stretched out straight as an arrow. Welp, guess we’ll be putting my youngest in pads and a helmet and seeing if she flies across the kitchen floor tonight.

No noteworthy rains for sure. I didn’t see any crawling on the sidewalk or driveway either, just woke up to find them dead a few days ago. I assume they came out overnight, but I don’t know what caused it.

I thought I was the only one until I brought it up to a group a couple days ago. A handful of people said the same thing happened at their homes.

The worms are dutifully wearing their mask around my house. Not 1 single case of worm Covid has been reported.

Trust the science.

well now that you speak of it... hmmm....

likely the mosquito control trucks have been bought by china, trying to destroy our insect population that would in turn have major disruption to our farming success and lead to American starvation and global depopulation.

I actually thought they might be to blame.

I had a bunch dead two weeks ago. But I pressure washed my house the day before so I blamed it on the bleach/jomax/water combo I sprayed on the house.
