Just curious...how did you arrive at the "32% chance at a singular top 4 pick" ??
He added the 17% and 15% together. As I pointed out, that's not the right way to think about it, because the chance of either the Lakers or the Pels making the playoffs (and losing ping-pong balls as a result) is about 50%.

The Lakers list LeBron James (left knee soreness) and Dwight Howard (hip soreness) as questionable for New Orleans game Sunday and Talen Horton-Tucker (left ankle sprain) as probable.

Assuming we beat Lakers on Sunday, this could get amazingly interesting over the next 3-4 games. So many variables involved with Pels/Lakers/Spurs and even the Knicks. We obviously need the Knicks to find some reason to continue playing hard, as they have recently. ANYBODY playing hard, from here on, can win against just about any other team, depending on who is sitting out etc...

95% chance lebron plays. Only reason he wouldn’t is because of hurting his scoring title chances

He MUST play in 4 of his remaining 9 games, to qualify. He'll play in this one, and if he happens to be having an off night shooting, he'll just shoot as often as needed UNTIL he gets to at least 30 or so. Might end up having to stop shooting from outside and just go to the hoop (& shoot free throws). Lately, his shot chart, illustrates this "method". From this point forward, when needed, it'll work toward securing the scoring title. His betting odds for winning title have gone from +165 to -150 in past 4 days...that speaks to what is gonna happen...barring a legit serious injury. Easy money last week...

If the season ended today with lakers and pels both out of the playoffs
I didnt say the hypothetical was likely, but the hypothetical was that we both lost the play in. I wouldnt say my posted odds are “incorrect” just because you think that either us or the lakers would beat the Twolves or Clippers. I posted a statistical fact, and you brought opinion into it and said you were right. Doesnt make sense

Agreed. The mathematical probability doesn’t change just because you believe a certain outcome is more likely.
You might argue the statistic is misleading when looking at the context, but to say it’s incorrect is…well incorrect.

And I somehow misread your post and didn't see that you were allowing for the hypothetical that both us and the Lakers miss the play-in.
My bad.

Well...so far, so good. Knicks hold on to beat Pistons. That's 3 straight road wins for Knicks, now they head home for 3.

There's a chance the Lakers will have the 9th worst record by the end of the night.

Lakers got me rooting for the Spurs now
The enemy of my enemy is my friend
Spurs one game from knocking the Lakers out the play in game with 8 to go.

Hell yeah, just need the spurs to win one more game than the Lakers the rest of the way, we hold on to the 9th seed, and that pick is ours
Posted on 3/27/22 at 8:33 pm to GOP_Tiger
How do we get Lakers pick? If they are in the bottom 10? And which pick would it be?
Posted on 3/27/22 at 8:33 pm to lsutigers718
If the pick is 1-10 post lottery we keep the pick, 11-30 it goes to Memphis
