He also played 42 minutes and Lakers in the next 9 days play Mavs, Jazz on the Road, then us on the 2nd of a b2b, then nuggets and Suns.
Lot of tough games in a short stretch.

They go 0-4, fall to 11th then shut Lebron down for the year

I will say that Jazz game might be interesting. They’ve been playing pretty bad lately and the lakers beat them already when the lakers were starting their decline. I’d still pick the jazz but I wouldn’t be surprise if it’s a close one.

I just don't think folks realize how big a deal LeBron thinks his winning the scoring title at his age would be. He has been "aiming" for this for quite a while now. He & Embiid & The Freek are VERY close, yet the betting odds have suddenly shifted very heavily toward LeBron, for no apparent reason (at least, not apparent to most)
HE WILL PLAY AT LEAST 3 MORE GAMES...to qualify. I honestly believe the scoring title is more important to him, at this time, than for the Lakers to manage to sneak into the play-in at maybe #10. I'm quite sure he thinks any appearance by these Lakers in the "playoffs" would be short-lived, and would end in a humiliating beatdown by the Suns in the 1st round of the REAL playoffs, if the Lakers managed to get that far.

Precisely, with this game he increases his average a smidge.
Embiid and Giannis by all accounts will finish out the season while LeBron has to play 3 more. Its about average PPG and while I'm sure it matters to Embiid and Giannis, both of them/teams are jockeying for position (they are 0.5 games from either being 1st or 4th).
LeBron can drop his 30+ and call it a night on defense. Embiid and Giannis have to keep playing within the system.

The media will try to make a big deal out of LeBron's chase for the scoring title starting in the next few days but, to Vegas, it's already decided barring a legit, serious injury to LeBron. Embiid & Freek are actually on serious contending teams & eventually they will shut down or give serious "rest" to their stars. They will fade in PPG down the stretch when/if they play limited minutes for a game or 2. LeBron is NOT gonna play limited minutes (or shots)...in any game he actually plays in from this point forward.

Agreed. Not quick to compliment Lebron on anything but this was cool to see.

LeBron wants nothing to do with this playoffs with his shite squad. Honestly, I think he gets his scoring title and tries to force his way out of LA, or forces LA to dump Toni or Westbrook.

FiveThirtyEight projects the Lakers to finish with the 8th pick, behind the Spurs, Wizards and Knicks. Notably, they only project them to win two more games this season and finish at 33-49.
Projected Wins
They project us to finish the last 7 games 4-3.

If his ankle really is hurt, you're going to see Lebron just jacking up 3s.
I'm not sure how many games they can win now.

This is definitely happening, but I don't know what they are going to get for Westbrook. They could get something for Toni, but if they still are relying on Westbrook for big minutes they will be bad.

The rumor around the deadline was there was the outline of a deal revolving around Wall/Wood for Westbrook + young pieces and a pick(Lebron signaled he was pissed the Lakers didnt make the deal)
I think that is basically what I see happening.
Wall might be a slight upgrade(but he has barely played in two years and didn't look great then), and Wood will be nice to have as a guy that can play the 5 or 4 and keep things going when AD inevitably spends half the season in street clothes, but I still dont think that is more than a 6th seed under a best case scenario.

Would have been funny if Westbrook was traded for Wall again. They are the two worst contracts in the NBA.

No one is helping the lakers. They are going to burn.

They'll make some sort of move by overpaying, or, the Lakers will hold firm and not bend over to Lebron(doubt it), but there is no magical Pau Gasol trade out there to save them from either a fast burn, or a slow a steady roasting of the Lebron/AD era.
