A citation should be filed against Latoya since she has greatly reduced the quality of life for Nola residents

Are they allowed to cite themselves? I mean, they are the biggest violators if you look at infrastructure and any municipal responsibilities.

Latoya is useful to her right now.

Police Academy 4 must've been on HBO yesterday.

She's been making moves to create her own personal Gestapo for a while now.

This is going to fail spectacularly.

The plan would allow the deputization of employees from the Department of Public Works, Department of Sanitation, the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, the Ground Transportation Bureau and the Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board. Those deputized employees would have the ability to issue citations on a wide range of local laws that mostly revolve around garbage collection, illegal dumping, blocking the public drainage system, overgrown weeds, public right-of-way obstructions, rodent control and tour guide regulations.

These are all problems created by the city

She is doing this just to get at white folks.

Tickets are not going to be written in primarily black areas

write tickets to white people

Am I racist for reading the OP thinking it would primarily affect “people of color”?
Or as usual they will ignore them and write tickets to uptown types for not having their trash cans in by a certain time?

Authoritarian money grab. Awesome.

Why do the residents pay taxes there?

They're going to appoint about 20 HOA presidents, but their neighborhood is the whole fricking city.

Do they get paid extra for this? Or is it just a free extension of the police?

They do it for the power trip.

There are people who walk around certain parts of the city picking up campaign signs (before the elections) because they are supposed to be on the neutral grounds.

I have no issue with this honestly. Illegal dumping and garbage collection especially. Both major problems in the city but something NOPD doesn’t have the manpower or time to deal with.

Not gonna lie, this is a step towards what the Chinese do in their "Social Credit System" where they encourage citizens to report on other citizens. This is all kinds of fricked up.

I'm no fan of the Destroya but being an Orleans resident I have no issue with this. If anything it's too little, too late. If a city employee can read and write and sees a derelict house or overgrown yard, please, issue a citation.

Rudy G. helped save NYC with his "broken windows" approach to quality of life.

Jefferson Parish does sweeps of entire neighborhoods citing violations. Though much of Jefferson is becoming a sh*thole like most of Orleans, at least they're trying to keep it decent for those who still live there and still care.

JP quality of life sweep by municipal department

JEFFERSON, LA - The Jefferson Parish Department of Property Maintenance, Zoning/Quality of Life will be conducting a sweep within the geographical boundaries of Council District 2 on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish on Thursday, July 15, 2021 in an effort to address property violations for quality of life enforcement.

If you think city employee’s will do anything other than harass businesses and virtue signal with this power.

I’d bet my left nut they don’t issue citations to tent city or anything in New Orleans east
