One for the conspiracies. Trump passed on anesthesia to avoid giving Pence temp power

Sauces. Books. NYT. Yadda yadda yadda. This is certainly some interesting red meat for the conspiracy minded, though I wasn't aware anesthesia was common for colonoscopies, not old enough to add that to my regimen yet lol.
So is this just the Trump invincibility ego on display, a complete made up nothing burger, or a sign of a deep dark conspiracy?

Any colonoscopy or upper GI scope typically involves knocking you out in order for the doctors to do what is required.
It’s possible to do it without that but not standard procedure.

If you get the right stuff, you are really happy for about an hour or two after colonoscopy. Then it wears off and back to reality.

The more likely story is that he said he was going to pass on anesthesia so Pence wouldn't get sworn in then took it anyway.
Seems silly. If a President trips and knocks himself out, can't the VP take over without getting sworn in?
