Then Confiscate all Contents Saying Owners Need To Prove Contents are Legal Property

quote:

This story is almost unbelievable, but unfortunately it is very real. The FBI suspected a safe deposit box company named U.S. Private Vaults was participating in money laundering. The feds gained a search warrant with very specific limitations (which they abruptly violated), to look at the legal contents of some boxes. However, the judge said no content could be removed unless the FBI specifically could prove the content was illegal.

The feds ignored the search warrant parameters and just started busting open the boxes, confiscating $86 million in cash, jewelry, rare coins and precious metals. When the owners went to court the FBI said the contents smelled like marijuana – ergo the owners had to prove how they came into legal possession of the items. The issues are not resolved, but at least a few judges are rightly looking at this as a clear violation of the 4th amendment…..

The FBI no longer serves the people

You know, at least when Pirates take your stuff, they don’t do it under the guise of protecting you.

These people are the enemy of the people and only exist as thugs to do the dirty work of the biggest cartel of all.

I can’t imagine having that kind of wealth and not having a private vault in my mansion instead of in public.

Something truly needs to be done about the FBI.

So…okay, hold on.

These feds are saying, that money and jewelry and coins smell like weed.

In a state where weed is legal and pervasive

And that’s why they had to steal all these things

Civil Asset Forfeiture goes directly against innocent until proven guilty and should be outlawed nationwide.

I don't know if that's how it's supposed to work but that sentence just cracks me up.

"This diamond tennis bracelet and stack of rare coins smells like weed so you must show me the receipts for everything in this box!"

I don't recognize America as what it was when I was young. The government is more of an enemy of the people than any other time in it's history.

I doubt VERY seriously that your description was exactly as it happened.

Why would I place all my valuables in one location (my home)?

I imagine these people spread it around a bit.

Any impartial judge would call this utter bullshite and say they had no right to steal all these people’s things.

But, how do you steal your stuff back from the FBI?

Hold on…that’s not a bad premise for a heist movie.

Our gov't must not have been in on the laundering then. Otherwise, they look the other way.

That’s like the golden ticket, isn’t it. Smells like weed, and so we can abandon all rules and do what we want, being justified in our overreach.

America has a fever, and the answer is not more government. It’s much much less of it, but you have to impart that to the idiotic voter base if there’s any hope of salvaging what’s left of freedom and liberty in this once great country.

It's no longer "government for the people" but "vs the people". Until someone goes into office with hardcore tax reforms this will never end.
