Well, you're point is true. BUT one shouldn't be too hard on oneself for simply being naturally more civilized than those people. Ignorant barbarism comes easy to them. Us? Not quite so easy. What it will take is something hitting very, very close to home. Something more personal. That's just the reality of the situation. Something like that, or being cornered and loved ones being at risk. If that happened on a larger scale I believe you'd see some hardcore action.
