I cannot imagine that people stayed in Grand Isle. Of all places you leave, this is the one you 100% leave.

Did people stay on GI?

Neither Thib nor Houma are on the NHC probability list. Buras makes the cut, however.

105 mph is a cat 2. Look at TWC. They are already starting to hedge their bets. I’m just sharing what they just said. That’s all. This is a fast moving storm that doesnt appear to slow down and actually have time to strengthen. Or dump a bunch of rain. Sorry to disappoint?

LaToya isn't losing a bit of sleep over this storm I can promise you that.

I'd hate for anything bad to happen but if there is anything good that comes out this storm, maybe it'll make it apparent how bad she is at her job to her constituents.

I’m on the north shore and I wasn’t that concerned this time last night but the new track is reminding me of 16 years ago. Thankfully flooding shouldn’t be a problem but the pine and oak trees make up for it.

I don’t know. Current winds are at 105 mph. TWC just did a comparison to Katrina and this one is just so much weaker. At the 10PM advisory on the same day Katrina was a CAT 5. This one is a CAT 2. Katrina had hurricane force winds 100 miles out, this one is only 40. So while this is obviously a big storm, it’s not a Katrina. It won’t be a CAT 4. Itll be lucky to be a CAT 3.

I think there is a good chance this could go from 2 to 4 at the next update. Satellite presentation is excellent and Dovork estimates have this as 119kts estimated. I’m about 10 minutes we will get some recon data. Pressure is still going down.

Ok, I know this is political so Rummy feel free to delete, but Latoya just blamed the state for not evacuating NOLA. Said the state said they didn't have time to setup.

Few people in this thread have claimed that she was overruled by the higher ups.

So hear me out, this hurricane may actually be a little stronger than 105.

Well, that could be taken 2 ways. 1-they don’t think we will have any, or 2-guaranteed.

We are directly in the path sooooooo
