Assuming I take the vaccine, which would you take? The J&J is not mRNA, so I'm leaning toward that. I would prefer to wait for the Novavax, but don't know when that will ever be released.

The j and j one is crap. It's not total crap, it's better than the Chinese one or the uk one.

Either mrna one is better.

Sorry but my days of pissing in the wind are now over. The political climate on the islands is like Chicago, SF, or Philly. Add the fact that I am in the small white minority plus the cost of time, effort, and serenity, the cost benefit is not there anymore. It is clown world of their own making. they can have it.

Is this purely based on effectiveness? Because there are people who could not care less about that aspect of the shot and are going to get it solely to avoid issues/headaches created by Coronabros in different aspects of life...

I chose to be vaccinated and will take a third booster.

However if you are an adult and choose not to, I support your freedom of choice. Your company is setting themselves up for a major law suit. Do they force parents to have their children get vaccinated against childhood diseases or others to get the flu or shingles shots. No!

Get a lawyer on commission!

Arise MD out of Wisconsin will do a video call with you and give you a doctor's letter explaining why they recommend you wait for the Novovax for health reasons - it's like $200. Real doctor.

This is why I trust TD more than any other news site. You guys do the best research. The mainstream media sites will only give you the "party" line. I guess y'all aren't getting paid enough by Big Pharma

If you have a contract, I'm willing to bet that your use of 'sick days' isnt defined by the named illness. Just tell your Dr to write you an excuse for pneumonia, or upper respiratory infection instead

However, they may not have to pay you for x number of days past your contract limits

I work for a large defense contractor and they put this policy into effect a couple weeks ago. If you are vaccinated and get Covid, you get paid up to five days. If not vaccinated, you have to use PTO. Our sick time and vacation are in the same bucket so the sick time they are offering is extra.

It’s funny, my job is badgering everyone to get it, not forcing (yet), and I have seen my Dr twice with my Covid and he hasn’t brought up the vaccine one time.

I took J&J because it is only one shot. Least amount of time wasted. My work also “strongly suggested” I get vaccinated.

Wife's job (teacher) also says if you get sick and aren't vaccinated, it's not paid time off. I wish we'd hit the lottery and we'd drop off the face of this stupid planet.

J&J is mRNA!! Why do people keep say it’s isn’t. It’s just viral vector instead of nanolipid.

but the idea of not being paid for sick days is bouncing around the organization, if one does not have the vaccine and gets sick from covid.

That is what the St. Tammany Parish School Board is doing. In short, they seem to be discriminating against the unvaccinated by having two sets of requirements for their employees. If you are vaccinated, you are not required to quarantine. Unvaccinated, you are forced to quarantine (even if you have had a documented Covid case previously) and must use your sick leave for those days. If you don’t have enough sick leave, then your pay will be docked.

This isn’t my realm of expertise, so the lawyers chiming in with their opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Do they pick and choose which other “preventable” conditions employees can use paid sick leave for?

Like pregnancy?
Heart attacks for obese employees?
Cancer for smokers?
Seasonal flu vax/non-vax?

My job hasn’t mandated vaccines yet. Is there really legal implications for these companies that do? They’re basically giving you a “choice”. I currently have a vaccinated co-worker with COVID. They now have pericarditis. Is that from COVID or a combination of that and vaccine….who knows at this point. Hasn’t the Supreme Court already struck down cases for vaccine mandates?

Things have been heated here in MS the past few weeks. I’m lucky to work for an employer that hasn’t mandated, but I’m curious how these situations are going to work out.
