My job is requesting (for now, anyway) that I get the vaccine before I go on a business trip. I don't have to, but the idea of not being paid for sick days is bouncing around the organization, if one does not have the vaccine and gets sick from covid.

Assuming I take the vaccine, which would you take? The J&J is not mRNA, so I'm leaning toward that. I would prefer to wait for the Novavax, but don't know when that will ever be released.

Mine did as well, 2 weeks ago.

Strange, that is the same day I submitted my letter of resignation.

Had planned on retiring. Just happened earlier than I had expected. September 11, 2021. Hoo-fricking-ray!

Let’s not pay for sick days, so the sick employee goes out and works.

For my company, it is the insurance companies applying the pressure, due to the fact that the vaccine reduces the chance that you'll have a hospital stay.

If you are afraid of the mRNA vaccine then get the more traditional J&J. Though Moderna looks to be the best in terms of efficacy and likelihood of side effects.

But seriously don't take anyone's word for it on a political message board. Go search up the different vaccines and make your own choice.

Of one is inclined towards conspiracies, the J&J uses DNA that actually enters the cell's nucleus, where your genome resides, whereas the mRNA vaccines do not. The mRNA enters only the cytoplasm and uses the ribosomes to produce the S protein for display.

Ultimately, choose either. It's up to you.

We went from "Just say no to drugs" to industries pushing drugs.

Like I learned when I was a child, I won't put up with these bullies pressuring me to take drugs. I will "just say no."

So what will be the difference between the J&J and the Novavax?

I know there was the initial false scare around blood clots from the JJ, but have they had the same issue on the heart that the MRNA has?

Are going to stay down there? Do some independent/free lance work or anything?

Honestly, the opinions and research posted by members on TD is more reliable than what the media and government have put out for public consumption

Exactly. I'm seeing more and more misinformation about J&J on this site as the pressure to get any of the vaccines is ramping up. Big misconception that the J&J is just like the protein based flu shot -- it's not. That would be Novavax which the FDA is slow walking for emergency approval.

Just because J&J is only 1 shot and is not mRNA doesn't mean it's the traditional protein based either.
