re: New Credit card question:collecting points to use for Disney trip while building home - cdl2006
You can no longer book Disney vacation packages through Ultimate Rewards. The only way to use UR is to stay at an off site hotel. I’ve read that you can also get tickets with URs. ...

re: New construction - run coax? - cdl2006
The only place you might need smurf is for the run where services enter your house but it could be as simple as a stub out.
What do you recommend quantity and size wise here? I was thinking of running a couple of 1” tubes out for future use. ...

re: New construction - run coax? - cdl2006
What size would you recommend? From what I have read, you can only drill a hole with a diameter of 40% of the board if it’s a load bearing wall. This ends up being 1” tubing. I was thinking of running two 1” tubes behind each tv. ...

re: 24/7 Indoor Nanny Cam - cdl2006
I just bought a Wyze camera and have been impressed so far. I would think this could fit your needs. It records audio, however, I wasn’t concerned with audio and haven’t paid attention to the audio quality. I paid about $30 for the camera and put a 128 gb memory card in it. It’s been recording...

re: Hdhomerun and Plex - cdl2006
Anyone have issues with interlacing during live sports? I’m using a Fire TV with Plex and a quatro, but it’s bad enough that I switch direct to an antenna for football games. I also get a lot of buffering on recorded programming. Not sure if it’s the server, the router, or the streaming device causi...

re: Price of Building a House - cdl2006
We are working with a builder in Metairie and I’m thinking it must be the same one based off of what you said. Is it Creative Builders? I’ve seen quite a few homes of his in the parade the last couple years and have been impressed with the quality he provides at the prices he is at. He’s been great...

re: Tile underlayment for cement slab? - cdl2006
I did about 500 square feet not too long ago. I picked up a roto hammer from harbor freight for about $70 bucks on sale (Bauer - Item#63434) and it got the tile up really easy. After that I used it to chip away some of the thin set that remained. Then I took a grinder and a diamond grinder blade tha...

re: Software to organize finances and credit repair - cdl2006
As others have said, YNAB is great. I used mint for a while and found YNAB to be more user friendly. It forces you to allocate every dollar you have and gives you a clear picture of where you stand. It does take work, because every transaction you make will need to be entered manually or imp...

re: Ring, Ring Pro or wait for the Nest Doorbell? - cdl2006
It will record on motion. With the Pro, you can control the areas where motion will activate it and also how sensitive it is. You can set your phone to get an alert on any motion or only when the door bell is pressed. I choose not to get the motion alerts because they are too frequent. You will ha...

re: Ring, Ring Pro or wait for the Nest Doorbell? - cdl2006
I installed a Ring Pro last Sunday. I come home last night to an open package. I go and review the recordings and watch a neighborhood kid who has caused trouble in the past take a package, bring it back, take another package and never return. I get the cops involved and by tonight the kid admitted ...
