Forest Park has a trail through a wooded area that has a good bit of shade

Go to the President streets. They have historical buildings and excellent tour guides that have interesting stories to tell. Exercise and you’ll learn something!!

LSU Lakes is partially shade. 50/50.

Otherwise, maybe Comite park but I think there are a lot of bike riders.

Would also recommend Bluebonnet swamp trail. Almost 100% shaded

LSU’s hilltop arboretum also has some good shade but is much shorter

Howell community park is what you’re looking for. Enjoy

Look at Brecs site
I’ve only been to Blackwater in Central but it’s really nice with several different trails, most are wooded, none are long, can walk the big once twice in an hour easily
I think Comite has reopened but we haven’t made it there yet

I believe it’s free to enter, but photographers are supposed to pay a registration fee

East Lakeshore at the LSU lakes is mostly shaded. You could park at the Tennis Center and walk in the shade out and back instead of making the loop around western sides of the lakes. Plenty people do these out and back walk/runs in the middle of Summer for that very reason.

Here's a 2 mile(out and back) path from May Street that's almost completely shaded except for the bottommost little peninsula you see.

Baton Rouge is a weird town. I do land surveying and heavy construction. Over the years I have had about 100 people come up to me telling me that they did not want sidewalks in their neighborhoods. I always ask them to explain themselves and I usually get the same answers, they did not want people walking in/through their neighborhoods.

Highland road park has a decent trail. Haven't been there in a couple of years though.

That’s strange because if someone wants to walk in a neighborhood, they’ll walk on the street. I’d rather someone walk on the sidewalk.
