If the going gets tough, just quit.

After all, you can always follow the example of *Vice President Kamala Harris and sleep your way to success.

Powerful stuff

Oh wow. She is a terrible role model. And MAINLY because she is black, probably liberal, and somehow linked to Kamala Harris.

But be honest....not because she quit the Olympics. People withdraw all the time. She was just high-profile and a sure-thing...so she made headlines.

Just say what you really want to say. We got your back!

Can’t imagine working that hard to quit… who did she rob a place on the team from?

Well to be fair, Olympic committee saying they aren't going to judge her on abilities that she can do and no one else can. Is kind of fricked up. I'm sure that played a huge role in her breakdown.

Would it be the same if Lebrun quit the Lakers in the finals?

What a letdown

Who was the other athlete to withdraw in the middle of a team competition at the pinnacle of the sport due to stress, and not an injury?

She is going to regret quitting one day...

My Daughter slipped in a cheer event that cost her team a championship...I can tell you its miserable for the athlete who tries to reconcile an imperfect routine they can do in practice with eyes closed...and yet cost the team the ultimate prize by not hitting.

Its sports...it happens...

But not getting back on the Mat...thats a no no

Who knows what’s going on in her head. Wasn’t some doctor molesting gymnasts awhile back...what if some scandal erupts from this god forbid

Yeah how would you feel if you worked that hard and you were told that you would be judged differently because you were too good.

Biles did NOT let anyone down or send a bad message to anyone. She is playing a sport for OUR ENTERTAINMENT! That is it. She worked hard to get where she is and then decided she didn’t want to do it anymore. She owes the American people nothing. Shame on us if we looked at her as something more than just a gymnast who was great at what she did.

The only people that she MAY owe something to is her sponsors who paid $ assuming she would perform in the Olympics.

Another example of a lib seeing race while accusing others of racism. While you didn’t say this directly, you obviously implied it. Even told others to “say what you really want to say”.

As was stated, she has now effectively taken a spot from someone else.
Or, she simply has been told how great she is for years, and cannot fathom not winning.
Either way, it has nothing to do with color.

Wrong. She is going to regret it every day.

She will never admit it, but every day of her life for a long time she is going to have to suppress feelings of inadequacy and guilt.

This attempt at redefining courage and the heart of a champion that I am seeing on social media is disgusting.

Honestly if she had just quit and said, look, I have the yips and aim not Olympic ready, that would have been acceptable to me. So maybe she isn't the one I have a problem with, because she isn't trying to redefine courage. But people are, and it's dangerous.

Eh, she has accomplished more than almost any gymnast is US History. I’m sure she will regret not quitting sooner

Edit: some people are fricking retards.
She’s literally accomplished everything she can accomplish. She’s pretty old for a high level gymnast. If she doesn’t want to do this, I’m sure she will regret going through all this and not just retiring after Rio.

I really don't get all the hate for this girl.

Whatever is going on with her 99.9% of the public have no clue what it is. So she made a personal decision for herself. How does her decision hurt anything other than her standing in her sport?

And I 100% do not think it sends any negative message to young girls to just quit when the going gets tough.

Maybe it sends the opposite message. Maybe is sends a message the you have a commitment and responsibility to yourself above all else (except your God).
I think the reaction to this sends a clear message to all young athletes. No one cares about you if you're not competing and winning.

This might actually matter to me if I gave a shite about gymnastics.

Already asked above and remains unanswered, so, name some of those that withdraw "all the time".

Notice of requirement: withdraw due to mental stress.

If you fail to answer, you admit defeat. Also note: this is not to put undue pressure, so don't fold like a cheap suit, bitch.

Didn’t a Japanese male gymnast finish with a busted up knee?
