I have decided to replace this POS that is terrible at moving air:

Anyone have first hand experience with either of these brands?

The ES6 looks like a great fan but I may end up going with 2 and would rather not drop that $$$ right now if I can get 5 or so good years with the Minka H2O.

Any other brands in the 65”-75” range that move a bunch of air that I should be looking at?

ceiling fans suck in the Louisiana heat. Get one that mounts to the wall in a corner and it'll move some air.

I just replaced our back patio fans. I don't mind spending $$$ so I was looking at the smallest Big arse Fan for over $1,000.

Decided to go with Minka Aire Xtreme H20 65" and love it. It is smooth, quiet and moves a lot of air. I don't see how you can justify the price increase to move up to BAF.

This is in S. LA and my back porch gets humid AF, but the Minka Aire showed me how shitty my previous fan was.

i found regular 52" hunter indoor fans work best for patios and porches but the wooden blades will sag over time so you need to replace them with new ones every few years

I already have a 30” pedestal that oscillates and a couple 20” I move around the patio. I believe both styles have their place and plan on getting some permanent wall mounted fans for other locations down the road.

Thanks, those are the only 3 things I care about for this one.

I don’t have any need for the wi-fi/Bluetooth/sensors that come with the BAF. I think it is overkill for this application…..I am thinking hard about going with the Haiku for my living room when my current fan craps out.

Home Depot has their own version of a 72” outdoor usually around $299

Big arse fans is just a copy cat that took off, then they were bought out.

I wouldn't put any weight behind the name.

I just installed this fan last weekend. I can now actually feel a breeze under the fan compared to absolutely nothing with my older 52" or whatever fan. I thought it would be breezier with hurricane force winds to cool me off, but no...just a gentle breeze. It is definitely an upgrade and would recommend.

BAF Haiku will move some air. Friends have 2 of the big haikus in their outdoor kitchen. They will move some air.

Have the H20 on our back patio and one n the living room. Both 65”. No problems from them. I think the contractor price from Notoco was a little over $300, hard to justify the BAF. Seriously thinking of getting one for our bedroom.

I had one of the BAF Haikus at last house. They are worth the money. Moved twice the air at a lower RPM than similar fans, and the quality is no comparison to stuff at home stores. The rigging and mounting is superior as well. You need a flat box to mount them, as they don't use a ball joint.

I have 3 haikus under my patio but put just a big 84 inch Amazon special for 200 dollars under my cabana and it moves just as much air.

The haikus move a lot of air if you’re directly underneath them but overall they don’t cool the area as much as I had hoped

I ended up ordering the Minka from Amazon and it was delivered today. I was able to install it in about 30 minutes and it seems to move a decent amount of air.

Hunter originals are the way to go… pricey, around $600 but they move air better then any, look the best, and will last a lifetime

May not look the best, but definitely moves a lot of air when it's hot as hell outside.

If you have the room, use a 1ft or longer drop tube. It will move air better not being so close to the ceiling.
