It doesn’t matter what he really thinks, he’s just a puppet playing a role and there’s no way he’s going to portray a Trump supporter in a positive light

He's a phantom of the current narcissistic, progressive culture; they truly believe they are intellectually superior.

Those guys are real; they culture du jour nws, because they are the framework that enables Human culture to survive and prosper. They beat down the 'Hitlers', produce basic goods for life, and love their kids more than fame. They don't gaf what Damon thinks.

I'll bet Damon thoroughly enjoyed visiting these folk; probably some of the most genuine people he's associated with as of late. Salt of the Earth.

Trump saw to it that his kids interacted with the construction hands on their sites; that is why they aren't like Hunter...who deep down, does not respect his own corrupt, Father. Because he knows the truth.

"research"...on how to be real. Yeah.

Damon I think is one of those people who genuinely wants to understand the everyman. But here’s the problem: he will never consider he’s actually wrong. I think he’s sympathetic to the everyman, but there’s no way in hell that he will admit that he is wrong and the everyman is right.

Kimmel on the other hand thinks: “Well, Adam is my buddy, and his family is complete white trash as even Adam admits, so I know enough.”

Is it, though? There are entire industries dedicated to building a dehumanized caricature and negative narrative about any conservative person.

I have a guy that does some work for me. He's late 30s. Never lived outside of NYC. Hates "rednecks"--but has never met a single one.

The unfounded hatred is every bit as it was in the days of segregation. Quite frankly the urbanization of our population is a form of segregation-- abnd a big part of the problems we face today.

“Being invited into their homes, into a backyard barbecue, a guitar comes out and they start singing church songs. It’s a very specific place ... and very different to where I grew up,” Damon said, according to Reuters. “It was really eye-opening for me."

Somebody was controlling who he spent time around off the rig, probably the guys that owned the rigs..
He didn't say anything about 80 hr work weeks, coming home covered in mud and sludge, throwing chains or learning new curse words.
Very light research.

The movie will suck. They can't help but inject politics into everything they do now. And politics ruins everything.

Unless you were wearing Longhorns gear in Oklahoma, then you’d probably be kicked out and mocked

My parents (who live in Oklahoma) had a dog who kept running into the glass door to the backyard and giving herself concussions. They ended up having to put a sticker on it at her eye level so that she could see the door and stop hurting herself, but the only one that worked was a Texas Longhorn sticker.

Years later that sticker is still there, and when people come to visit they get legitimately offended by the Longhorn on the door. I think they keep it there at this point just to mess with people.

This country sucks. Being an original white baw is “eye-opening” but a woman who connects a penis to themselves is supposed to be considered normal. Absolutely fricking arse backwards this country is.

Right, it isn't as absurd as it seems.

My sister works in Hollywood, and their bubble is so insulated, many of the people are even more ignorant than you already imagine them to be. She has co-workers who still believe Russian collusion was legit, and Trump supporters are just a radical fringe element in society. And these are just the beliefs of minions in the industry.

Now imagine a big time movie star who rarely interacts with the general public at all, so whose view of middle America is totally characterized by the media and the government. I can absolutely see someone like Damon being shocked by the reality of regular conservative folks.

Matt Damon's deafening silence during the Harvey Weinstein scandal was also eye-opening.

Hate to break it to Matt, it ain’t the fire retardant. It’s the two pack of American steel bearings hanging between the legs. Something he lost a long time ago

Matt Damon is his retarded puppet character from Team America World Police

Funny story about that - he is friends with the the south park creators and what REALLY upset him about the his puppet was that they didn’t ask him to voice himself and make fun of himself as a retard.

He thought the portrayal was excellent

I don’t see anything wrong with what he said. Seems respectful of field baws if anything.

And accurate.

Let me translate:

I hate deplorables

But deplorables are good baws

I tried to convert them to Marxism, but the baws wanted none of it

In spite of being a douche, the deplorables were still nice to me

However, if I say I like the deplorables, I will never work again, so instead I will just say it was “eye opening,” that way it can still be interpreted negatively.

Reminds me of Anthony Bourdain's show in West Virginia. He eats in the home of some blue collar Trump supporters and has an epiphany of sorts.

Worth your time if you haven't seen it.
