The statement did not identify the assailants, but said they were Spanish-speaking.

I assume that the dead Pres had no real political affiliation or ideological allegiance; like Joe Biden, just went with whomever was willing to pay "the big guy".

Haiti is a Very puzzling place.
So much corruption. They get billions in aid from the US and elsewhere.
Seems to me that when you give so much to a corrupt government, it becomes counter productive. The leaders just take the Aid and ignore the people which causes insurrections.
Maybe time to cut them off and let things work themselves out

There is audio of someone on a loudspeaker saying "This is a DEA operation...." and video of the attackers that looked military and well armed/equipped.
