Could be worse but they're better options out there.

Look at Mulkey! Just a month ago or so!!!

Mulkey was a great hire.

But let's not forget Scott knew she would be open to the LSU job because of strong connections to the area. I don't think he had to sell her much on LSU.

Not everybody is gonna come just because you tell them how great LSU is and you throw Fort Knox at them.

There are a lot of reasons why coaches choose to make a move. Money is far from the only consideration. Woody will do all he can to sell the big fish on LSU but some of them are gonna to be a lot harder to sell than others.

Especially a successful SEC coach like Corbin or Vitello who can just as easily stay put and get a pay bump from their current employer and still get to Omaha on the reg without the higher pressure environment they'd face in Baton Rouge. Gonna be a lot harder to convince those guys to give up what they've got if you can't convince them it will work out better for them in the long run. It will be a strictly business proposition for those guys because they have zero attachment at all to LSU or Louisiana.

LSU is a top 5 job in baseball. A great salary to the right coach plus facility upgrades keep LSU at the top

ESPN + article, but even the free part gives you the gist:

Keith Law

ETA: fixed link

Nothing in that article says O’Connor ruins arms. It says that scouts are cautions because Virginia doesn’t have a history of pictchers having success in the major leagues. Unless there’s is something in the paid version of the article, there’s nothing connecting any issues to O’Connor in that one.

Meaning he is not in his 60s and has time to get LSU back to CWS.

I live in Virginia and this IS the Mid-Atlantic, not the south.

The Confederate States of Mid-Atlantic?

A lot of dead fellows at Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Manassas, the Wilderness, who would disagree with you.

He’s talking about geographically, not Union vs Confederates.

I keep telling you that Bianco and Godwin make no sense. Those hires could have already been made.

Its Vitello, Corbin, or O'Conner.

Said this on several threads. No sauces as yall say. Just seems logical to me. Vitello ain't like the others.

I have the paid...it basically criticized his mechanics, said its something he's being taught to do, and that it could potentially cause injury and hurt his career.

I would be very happy with O’Connor if both Corbin and Vitello say no.

He's a really good coach. Has won a cws and I would rather him over anyone but Corbin.

Uh, Virginia is definitely the south. The capital of the Confederacy was there in Richmond for almost the entire civil war. History is a bitch huh?
