My reaction to O’Connor would not be excited.

That’s fine if others believe he is a good coach. It’s just an honest opinion. I would be a little disappointed, because I prefer probably five other coaches.

O’Connor would be a better option than Bianco

I really think I agree.

He clearly has a better resume than Bianco. It looks like they had bad seasons in 2018 and 2019, but other than that he's been really good for the most part.

50 = youth?

When you just had your 63rd BD yesterday, 50 is really young!

I really hope we don't go in this direction. Lots of better candidates out there that have better player development reputations.

They were bad this year and we’re very lucky to make the tournament

Not sure what he's done the past couple of years, but I would be happy with O'Connor. Outside of Bianco, I've been fine with every other candidate that's been brought up.

O’Conner would be an excellent hire. Been to CWS 5 times, including this year. Won it once, runner up once. Virginia had NEVER been to Omaha before O’Conner got there.

Home run would be McDonnell.

He would be a hit the top of the wall for an inside the park home run hire.

O'Connor has been to Omaha 5 out of the last 11 seasons. I would be very happy with him at LSU. His resume is way better than any name mentioned other than Casey. He is on par resume wise with O'Sullivan

I am REALLY concerned when I read things like that. I'd heard before that scouts had tried to steer recruits away from UVA, but to read it in black and white is jarring.

I have believed, and continue to believe, that SW is in control of this search. It won't be O'Connor, won't be Bianco. They would be okay, but nowhere near the splash he usually gets. Look at Mulkey! Just a month ago or so!!!

It's gonna be Vitello or Corbin. I'd like it to be McDonnell, but looks like that's not happening.

If the guy can succeed at UVA, he must know baseball. Would be solid hire. 50 is new 40.

Does he ruin pitchers? That’s the feedback from MLB scouts and GM’s

I know everyone has latched on to the pitcher thing.

But let's not forget that scouts don't like the way they coach hitters either.

This is very openly discussed, along with the mention of agents, advisors, and scouts steering players away from Virginia, on Fan Graphs Audio from June 3rd, 2018.
