The NCAA is all bark though. They've been threatening this type of thing for a long time and have never followed through that I am aware of.

South Carolina was barred from hosting NCAA events due to the Confederate flag being displayed at the state capitol.

Yeah bc that’s what Florida’s economy depends on, NCAA events. Not our beaches and resorts. Not our low taxes that attract people and businesses to move here. No no it’s NCAA events. You sound retarded. We didn’t get to having the 16th largest economy in the world bc of the NCAA.

Now continue this model across the South and the NCAA will fold like a cheap tent on this issue.

NCAA can pressure the likes of South Dakota with a ban, but they literally won't be able to do that in Florida. Plus, Florida don't give a shite, they have so much business there, losing a few events don't mean anything to them.

It wouldn’t really have affected South Dakota as a whole either. There were probably two or three people that Noem owes favors to (read: donations) that are in the hospitality industry or are tied to something that they were worried would be affected by some corporate boycott.

So you are in favor of whoring for trannies?

What’s next? Pedos?

Would you cancel Child Protection Services in order to host the DNC convention?

Besides, he may have just increased attendance at Florida beaches and theme parks by illustrating that he will not kowtow to woke supremacy.

How many events did they miss out on?

Also, they caved, so there is no way to know the ultimate result had they told the NCAA to frick off.

Florida and a few other states could destroy the woke NCAA or at least force a purge of woke fools running it.

Denny Sanford is SD's only billionaire. He throws big money around a small state and gets what you'd expect someone doing that to get.

He built the Sanford Pentagon - very cool basketball complex with "Heritage Court," the main court that (if you pay attention to such things) you see on ESPN pretty regularly. The Pentagon hosts classics annually that involve big time D1 programs, as well as the Summit League tournament, NCAA D2 tournaments and regionals, NAIA championships, as well as a couple of national level high school showcases and loads of regional high school basketball.

I wouldn't say that Noem's signature wouldn't have affected SD as a whole, but agree that this was far more about paying a political favor than it was an economic matter.

If Mike Pence did anything of the sort that looks like a refusal, the senate would’ve removed Pence from his position through a simple up or down vote and the senate president pro temp, Chuck Grassley, would take over and the certification would proceed as normal as they did in our timeline.

And if so, the American people would all know that marxist democrats would rather remove a VP, than have the events of the election investigated.

The VP’s role is purely ceremonial and ministerial outside of breaking senate ties.

Got a link for that? In the Constitution, I mean. Not from democrat propaganda media.

quote:

Mike Pence was never ever going to cross a constitutional red line, no matter how much Donald Trump demanded he do just that.

Agree. But that is because he turned out to be the same spineless, capitulating Republican that the other 90% are. Certifying the results of an overtly fraudulent election is the single biggest betrayal of the American people that republicans have ever committed.

This is why I think Desantis wuld be a better candidate than Trump in 2024... he has most of Trump's ability to effectively combat progressive narratrives... not all of it, no one will ever be as good at political combat as Trump was, but DeSantis is much better at explaining process and policy in a way that makes sense and that people can easily understand.

A majority of GOP senators would've voted to remove him as well. It was never going to go anywhere.

The 12th amendment. LINK

quote:

The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;

Nowhere does it say the the VP has the power to reject ballots. It's a purely ceremonial and ministerial role.

quote:

But that is because he turned out to be the same spineless, capitulating Republican that the other 90% are.

Or Pence and enough GOP senators respected the constitution and they were never going to cross a red line that would provoke the biggest crisis in American history.

quote:

That may be true politically. It's a heartbreaking result.

But constitutionally speaking, it worked as intended by the framers.
