I remember the Spaghetti House. It was on the corner of State and Highland where the Circle K is now.

Bumping this from a while back, but does anyone remember the Ballpark of Baton Rouge?

We played travel ball there occasionally when I was a kid, and I was too young to recall where that was/is located. Anyone know where in the city this was located?

Played a good bit at Drillers Diamond on GSRI too.

Quick & Handy on Nicholson. Used magic shell then ran it in the blender thing to make chocolate chip. So good! My roommate and I called it Quick and Fatty's ??

Sinclair's Army Surplus
Old New Orleans Po-Boys
Fast Track fries and milkshakes
Johnny's Pizza and Radio Shack at Drusilla. I remember a TG&Y there at one point, too.
Ramer's grocery store on Inniswold
When the ballroom at the Belmont was the highest of high class for BR.

Red Stick Sports - which is still in business! Bought my first baseball glove from there in 1987 - Rawlings Dave WInfield model. Still have it boxed away somewhere.

Shopper’s Fair is the store where BRCC is now.

There was also one on the NW corner of Plank and Airline. That and a Burger Chef in the vicinity were some early '70s memories.

Was at Zee Zee's one night when Margaret, Shingleton, and others came in after the late news. She got hammered and fell off her stool and took 2 others down with her. Drinks and shite flew everywhere. It was awesome.

Does anyone remember Pepperoni's on Staring Lane just south of Perkins? Pizza was fantastic....at least I thought so as a kid

I still think of this place sometimes and wonder whether the pizza was really as good as I remember it being.

The other day I was thinking about the brief time we had a Fuddruckers in BR. Specifically, that one guy they hired to call out the orders who always said something clever with each one.

We loved going to the Spaghetti House as kids. Especially clowning around in front of the funny mirrors at the entrance.

I think I remember that place. Did they have some kick-arse cinnamon sticks bread things with the frosting? Wood benches and tables with sports pictures on the walls?

LOVED the image of that.

CSB territory but my Dad was one of the original partners in the construction/ownership of the Split Decision on Bennington (now the Gold Club). He was good buds with Shingleton's brother and they lived a few doors down from each other at Fairway View. My dad pawned 12 yr old me off on him one Saturday morning to run some errands/probably score some blow and dude spent a few hours on the basketball court at the complex teaching me how to execute a proper jump shot with backspin. While doing this, Ron Abernathy (asst coach at LSU at the time and frequent bar patron) dropped by to pick up some club passes. shite got real when he berated my arse for not flicking my wrist enough.

I also recently found a glorious photo of my dad and Sugar Ray Leonard and Sugar Ray's entourage from when he worked the door at the Split Decision. Yeah, I know, more CSB.

i don’t remember the one on Starring, but they had a Pepperoni’s pizza on Perkins and Potwin (near Siegen) and another on Old Jefferson and Parkforest (where Tramontes is now).

We would get pizza from one of the locations every Friday night. It was always great.
