Not by name. It's been about 30 years. We were loyal and would wait for Anthony though

We went to something you describe in late 70's. We called it Quick and Fatty's. Maybe the real name was something like that. Quick and something.

I also remember taking a tour of The Advocate and they showed us a giant vat of K&B purple ink just for them because they advertised so much

Starts and ends with Florida Blvd. imo.

Florida Blvd from the river to Foster Drive was known (and still is by me) as Florida Street. Used to by ice cream at the Borden Dairy while my father bought Buick’s from Miller Buick next door.

remember a place on Nicholson in the 70s that served shakes with little pieces of chocolate in them. Way before Sonic ever thought of it.

I think this is the place I posted about. Delicious.

Does anybody remember Globe? It was near where BRCC is now. It was a combination grocery/dept store, sort of Hi Nabor mated w/Roses. I went there once, when I was about 10 (c. 1980)

I thought it was the dirtiest store I'd ever been in

That's where me and my brothers got our hair cut late 70s early 80s. Gene and Eve.

I’ve been going there since about 1993. Eve cut my hair a few years then she had to quit because of arthritis and Gene started cutting it. He retired a few years ago and a woman bought it and now her and her mom cut in there and they cut mine now.

Eve died about 10 years ago and Gene got remarried. His second wife died a few months ago from Covid.

He cut every LSU coaches hair going back to Gaynel Tensley to Dinardo. He would go cut Charlie Macs and Gaynel Tinsleys hair at their house when they were really old. Great guy.

I remember it. There was a fabric store in the strip center to the left of it my mother would go to. Behind it was a drive in movie theater on Government Street where the Winn Dixie and Superior Grill are now. It was a flea market then Cox was in it for a long time.

Across Florida and about a block up was Howard Brothers Discount. I still have boxes of .22 shells from there and a couple of guns.

And there was a Western Auto in Bon Marche front left.

I've mentioned Globe on here several times, and you're the first person to ever reply.

No one has ever responded to my mentions of Hillbilly bread

The one I remember was in Bon Marche'. They sold Winchester model 94's for $99. The Marlin version was $79. I was too young to afford one.

I don't remember Howard's at all. I know what building Sears was in but I don't really recall it. I'm pretty sure I never went inside.
