Does anyone remember the ice cream stand on Nicholson Drive north of LSU from the 1950's? It may have been a Dairy Queen, as I recall.

No. But when I was a kid my back yard directly connected to what is now the LSU Arboretum. I would go to Emory Smith's (he donated the arboretum to LSU) house and have cookies with him. That's my Baton Rouge nostalgia.

There was a cotton gin on Government St where Baton Rouge HIgh School is now.

I used to sweep up around the place for a nickel an hour after school.

My dad was 5 years old....and he's not exactly young. Going to be tough finding responses on this.
