Dairy Delight. Owned by the Lecky’s. Mr. Lecky was shot during a robbery one night behind the store and the place was bought by the Pirrellos who subsequently turned it into Uncle Ben’s Fried Chicken.

I don't remember it in the 50s or even the 70s but it was a lot nicer in the 80s than it is now.

Huge part of the nostalgia for me. Everywhere we went in Baton Rouge was usually on Florida...or Airline.

I remember a place on Nicholson in the 70s that served shakes with little pieces of chocolate in them. Way before Sonic ever thought of it.

The only Dairy Queen we had in Baton Rouge back then was on Florida Blvd. I don't know about one on Nicholson.

only Chinese food I ever ate in the city of BR where I questioned the source of my protein. that "chicken" never looked like the chicken from other places.

That's where me and my brothers got our hair cut late 70s early 80s. Gene and Eve.

Eta then we went to Anthony at the Razors edge for many years. I heard he passed away a few years ago.

Do you remember a guy there named Turk? Think he and his wife both worked there. Maybe they owned it.
