re: Cox bought. out by spectrum

I've been on Cox for a million years and never had any problems or needed anything faster.

But if this change makes my service worse or more expensive, I guess I'll be looking for an alternative.

Ortega has grown on me even though she is apparently superhuman after surviving a mortal wound earlier in the series.

Yes, I don't mind her as a character but it annoys me every time she shows up now because they gave her a big death scene and then plot armored her out of it because they wanted to have it both ways.

I wish the writers on this show would stop trying to inject so much comedy. It's weak and there's way too much of it.

I prefer the book to the movie. It gets intense.

Still waiting for his second book to be published, about having cancer.

If you haven't read his autobiography from the 1980s, I recommend it.
Looks like the reason he died is that his clothes got caught and tightened against his throat so he couldn't breathe, and it was ten days later in the hospital that he died.

Never really listened to his music but I liked Moonwalker as a kid, both the movie and the arcade game. I still like that arcade game.
The Exorcist by William Blatty (better than the movie)

Weaveworld by Clive Barker (or start with some of his Books of Blood short stories)

If you're referring to The Monk by Matthew Gregory Lewis, that's not horror but it's a very fun read.
An all-time favorite. And the stories about the making of it are also very entertaining.

re: Who else like the smell of bleach?

I used to like the smell of gasoline when I was young, but it seemed to change at some point. Maybe it's the ethanol? Or maybe it's just me.
I was looking forward to this as soon as I heard it was written by Donald Westlake. Glad I got to see it in the theater. BR is hit-and-miss on non-English films.

The show was great. Kind of funny how something I remember being niche and somewhat transgressive when it was new is now fun nostalgia for a wide audience.

I'm out of touch and I'm not even sure what today's "edgy" music is. Or is that ever a thing anymore?

They put on a good show in Baton Rouge 25 years ago. It was a small venue (Spanish Moon).

Really looking forward to the show. I've also never seen him live and the setlist has a lot of my favorites on it.
The endless enemies were the weakest part of Silent Hill f, detracting from the atmosphere. I heard they actually reduced the number, a while after I'd finished the game.

But despite that I thought it was an interesting story and had nice tension.

I hope they did a good job with that Fatal Frame remake that's about to come out.

If the first half isn't doing anything for you at all, maybe not.

If you want to see a movie with that type of tension that's also a lot of fun in a way Uncut Gems isn't, I'd recommend Marty Supreme. Same director (one of the two, anyway).
It's been free with PS Plus for months now, if you happen to have that.

They did a good job with it, and the new Silent Hill f is also very good.

re: How was 2025 for video games?

Posted by slough on 1/1/26 at 4:58 pm to
There were a lot of good releases, though not as many as in 2024. To name a few:

Death Stranding 2
Expedition 33
Monster Train 2
Once upon a Katamari
Öoo
Sektori
Silent Hill f
Split Fiction
World of Goo 2
This is one of my favorite videos on the Internet.
One of his most interesting soundtracks is The Long Goodbye. You hear the same theme in different styles in different scenes.

The movie is good, too. Crime drama.
