Anyone have any ideas, tips, etc on how to find a golfing partner who is able to go consistently? All my friends are married with small children and are hardly ever able to play.

Find someone better than you and play for $5 a hole.

Join a golf league?

Sometimes people put index cards on their local course bulletin board noting their handicap and when they're available. You could try that or ask at your local course.

Where do you live and play?

This is like looking for a wife. I grew up playing with a bunch of guys and we still play. Other option would be to go talk to the head pro and tell him you’re looking a game with some decent golfers. Tell him your handicap and what you’re looking for and I’m sure he will introduce you.

I have the same problem as you except I am the guy who is married with small kids. lol.
I am a member of a club so that helped, but the best way I found to find a lot of the guys I play with now are 1) sign up to play in any tournaments you can find, especially scrambles or other kinds where you have to have a partner. 2) show up as a single to play and ask to be paired with another group that doesn’t mind.
Both of these were good for meeting new players and if you enjoy playing with them, get their number after the round and ask to let you know if they ever need another guy, and vice versa.
I’ve made probably 10 regular golf buddies doing this over the years.

Just get out and play. I have one consistent golf buddy and he’s like me, not married and has no kids. We play weekly and I know he’s down and won’t cancel on me. Finding two more people is hard lol.

If it’s in your budget, join a club. I joined a club recently and there’s always some kind of organized game or tournament going on. Those are good ice breakers and as long as you’re not a tool bag and you play quickly and by the rules, you’ll easily be able to find games.

Play with older or younger players.
I play with people from 15 to 80.
During the week, I play with older men or a friend with his own business.
On the weekend, the group is a bit younger.

Not sure what level player you’re looking for, but I’m in the same boat. If you wanna play a round Let me know. This weekend looks shitty, but next weekend may work. Play beaver creek more than anywhere else.

Check out Golfweek Amateur Tour. Doesn’t matter HDCP they will flight you so you’ll play with similar players. I know nothing about LA but they have a Louisiana North and South division.

3 of the guys I golf most frequently with I met on the course. They were a single and wanted to join up.

This may be controversial but I got my wife into golf and she is obsessed. I could rarely play due to spending time with the family on the weekends but golf is now a family event.
Yea, I'm not out there every weekend playing with the boys but I am still playing 5x more than I was before and it has been pretty damn fun.
